Passive locking and unlocking requires avalid passive key to be located within oneof the three external detection ranges. These are located approximately 3.3 ft(1 m) from the front door handles and theliftgate.

Note: The system may not function if thepassive key is close to metal objects orelectronic devices, for example keys or a cellphone.

    Locking Your Vehicle

Locking sensors are located on each of thefront doors.

For central locking and to arm the alarm, touch a locking sensor once.

For double locking and to arm the alarm, touch a locking sensor twice within threeseconds.

Note: When locking your vehicle, do not gripthe door handle.

Two short flashes of the direction indicatorsconfirms that all the doors and the liftgatehave been locked and that the alarm hasbeen armed.

Note: Your vehicle will remain locked forapproximately three seconds. When thedelay period is over, you can open the doorsagain, provided the passive key is within therespective detection range.

    AUTOWIPERS

    Highest sensitivity.A

    On.B

    Lowest sensitivity.C

The autowipers feature uses a rain sensor. You will find it in the area around the interiormirror. The rain sensor monitors the amountof moisture on the windshield andautomatically turns on the wipers. It willadjust the wiper speed by the amount ofmoisture that the sensor detects on the

windshield.Use the rotary control to adjust thesensitivity of the rain sensor. Set the controlto low sensitivity, and the wipers will turnon when the rain sensor detects a largeamount of moisture on the windshield. Setthe control to high sensitivity, and thewipers will turn on when the rain sensordetects a small amount of moisture on thewindshield.

    AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAMCONTROL

The system will automatically switch onhigh beams if it is dark enough and no othertraffic is present. If it detects anapproaching vehicles headlamps or taillamps, or street lighting ahead the systemwill switch off high beam before it candistract other road users. Low beam will

remain on.Once the system is active the high beamwill switch on if:

It is dark enough to require the use ofhigh beams and

there is no traffic or street lightingahead and

vehicle speed is greater than 25 mph(40 km/h).

The high beam will switch off if:

The ambient light is high enough thathigh beam is not required.

An approaching vehicle's headlamps ortail lamps are detected.

    Street lighting is detected.

    Vehicle speed falls below 19 mph(30 km/h).

    BREAKING-IN

During the first 2000 miles (3000kilometers), you may notice a ticking soundwhen your vehicle slows down. This is dueto adjustments of your new diesel engineand is normal.

    TIRE PRESSURE MONITORINGSYSTEM

As a driver assistance feature, your vehiclehas a tire pressure monitoring system. Awarning lamp will illuminate when one ormore of the tires are significantlyunder-inflated. If the low tire pressurewarning lamp illuminates, you should stopyour vehicle as soon as it is safe to do so,check the tires and inflate them to thecorrect pressure.

    Driving on under-inflated tires can:

Cause them to overheat. Lead to tire failure.

    Reduce fuel efficiency.

    Reduce tire life.

    Affect vehicle handling or stoppingability.

The system is not a substitute for correcttire maintenance.

You must maintain the correct tirepressures, even if low tire pressure has notilluminated the warning lamp.

    Understanding the Tire PressureMonitoring System

The system measures the pressure in the

four road tires and sends the tire pressurereadings to your vehicle.

The system detects this lower pressure asbeing significantly below the correctinflation pressure and the warning lampilluminates. You must inflate the tires tothe correct pressure.

If the Warning Lamp is On:

    1. Check each tire to verify that none are

flat.2. If one or more tires are flat, repair as

    necessary.

    3. Check the tire pressures and inflate allthe tires to the correct pressure.

    4. Carry out the tire pressure monitoringsystem reset procedure.

    Tire Pressure Monitoring SystemReset Procedure

You must carry out the system resetprocedure after each tire replacement oradjustment of the tire pressures.

    Carrying Out the System ResetProcedure

Switch the ignition on. Using theinformation display control select:
