    • When an object changes position over time in comparison to a reference point.

2. Reference Point

  • A point from which motion can be determined.

3. Frame of reference

  • A viewpoint or perspective in which motion occurs; can be different from others because it is based on your position.

4. Speed

  • The distance an object travels due to force over time.
  • (A rate used to explain motion)

Speed = distance / time 5. Force

  • A push or pull on an object.

6. Balanced Forces

  • Forces equal and opposite of each other resulting in zero net force.
  • (*No change in Motion)

7. Unbalanced Forces

  • Are unequal forces resulting in a change inspeed and/or direction of motion.
  • (*Results in a Net Force)
