Here are a few Do It Yourself Tips from our skincare professionals at Tallman Medical Spa.y Green Tea and Honey. Because I am a huge proponent of ingesting your vitamins and

minerals I love to encourage a healthy diet full of antioxidants that can boost the health of your skin. Honey is a natural humectant loaded with antimicrobial properties and tons of natural hydration. Add it to a glass of green tea, which is also chock full of anti-aging polyphenols that protect your skin from the damaging effects of free radicals. — Ellie

y Yogurt is an excellent skin-hydrating agent. The anti-infl ammatory properties help soothe dry itchy skin and the lactic acid helps get rid of any bacteria that may cause dryness or itchiness. Apply fresh yogurt to dry areas, leave on 10 minutes and shower off. This will remove dry skin and leave your skin refreshed. Follow with a hydrating moisturizer such as Renewal Enriched Body Lotion or Medical Barrier Cream made by Epionce. — Vicki

y Epsom Salt Soak. This bath is amazing for detoxifying the skin, while absorbing minerals at the same time. During detoxifying, which is the fi rst 20 minutes of the process, the sulfates fl ush toxins and helps form proteins in brain tissue and joints. During the second 20 minutes the skin replenishes its magnesium levels, combats hypertension, muscle soreness and fatigue, leaving the skin soft and ready for exfoliation. Recipe: In warm bath dissolve 2 cups Epsom salt, 2 cups baking soda (cleaning and anti-fungal properties), 1 tbsp. ground ginger or ginger tea, and 1 tsp. lavender oil. — LaVonne

y Making Time for Masks. Do you buy those pricey at home masks and never have the time to use them? If you answered yes, then I have an idea for you! The next time you take a shower grab your mask and slather it on while you shave and condition your hair. It’s an easy way to get results at home. — Cassandra

y Natural Eye De-Puffi ng Treatment. If your eyes are red and puffy from a long day spent squinting at the screen, lie down with your feet up. Use either thinly sliced cucumbers, damp tea bags, or cotton squares damp with cool tea on your eyes. On top of the cucumber or tea compresses, lay an unopened bag of frozen peas over your eyes for about 20 minutes. — Dana

y Retin-A. I like how smooth my face feels when using Retin-A, but I don’t like the dryness and irritation that are common side-effects. I reduce the side-effects by “buffering” it: warming and mixing it in my hands with another serum or moisturizer and gently patting it on the skin. That way I get the benefi t from the Retin-A, along with the benefi t of the serum, without irritating my skin. — Michelle
