We are excited because we know its coming. And we have known that it is coming for quite some time. And now you know its coming. But what is it”? It is FOR Le Roy! The world has long heard what the church is against. When I was young and first getting involved in the church I heard a few older members advise me that I shouldnt drink, smoke or chew or go out with girls who do! While it was their way of cautioning me away from some evils, it really was a part of an extended approach of all the things the church was against. And while maybe some of that approach worked in previous decades-it is definitely not working amongst younger generations today. Plus, they dont want to hear it. They pret- ty much know what the church is against. But, what is the church FOR? Can you answer that question? Perhaps if we could, we would be further along in creating a church that is simply irresistible! Anyway, its what we as a church should be striving for. To really know and understand what were about and what we are FOR. So, starting on Sunday September 22nd, 2019 we will launch a new teaching called FOR Le Roy. There will be many new and exciting as- pects of this endeavor that you will be hearing about in the weeks ahead. For now all were going to say is:Its Coming! September 8th: Fall Kick-Off Sunday. September 15th: England Missionaries David & Teresa Fittro. September 22nd: FOR the IMPACT. September 29th: FOR the Gospel. Jeff Mayfield - Senior Minister -jeff.mayfi[email protected]

The school year is off and running and everyone is “back to normal” it seems. As we settle into a groove, we anticipate the beginning of our fall programming as well. J.A.M., BreakPoint and Wednesday Night Bible Studies & Meals start soon. The Youth Group kicks off at a new time soon as well. Like any new day, the new school year holds endless possibilities and potential, for students and parents alike. Parents, we’re with you. Kids (if you happen to be reading this as it lies in a pile of your parents’ mail), we’re with you too! If you’re past the school year days, please be in prayer for those (of us) who are. 2019-20…here we come!

Jr. and Sr. High Youth Group will kick off at 6:00 pm on September 1st. There will be one meeting time this year so make note of that change. We’ll start the year off with another installment of last year’s wildly popular “Can I Ask That”? series, tackling topics that are out in public but sometimes hard to talk about.

J.A.M. and BreakPoint will begin, along with regular Wednesday evening pro-gramming, on September 4th at 6:30 pm. 3’s - 3rd grade will again meet in the Kid’s Wing for Bible lessons, groovy music, arts and activities to plant the Word in their hearts. BreakPointers will meet in the Ark in a setting and teaching appro-priate for pre-teens.

The first annual event of the school year takes place September 25th. See You at the Pole is a national event where we join thousands across the nation to pray for our schools. Jr. and Sr. High, meet at 7:15 am at Bowman Park and Elementary events begin at the school at 7:30 am. Feel free to jump into one of these circles and pray with us!

Thanks to those who have been bringing in stamped envelopes. We encourage more to join us as we make a difference in the lives of children we will probably never see on this side of Heaven! The number of donated stamped envelopes has increased since we started collect-ing at LCC last year. We are anxious to see that trend continue through 2019 as more people learn of this unique ministry that costs you nothing to be involved but has eternal rewards!

You can contribute to this cause by donating your stamps in the silver tray located on the main desk in the church office. Thank you for supporting this on-going ministry!

Le Roy Christian Church continues its part in the new prayer initiative “One Church, One Day”. The initiative focuses on specifically praying for the communities of McLean County.

We ask you to join us in committing to praying for the communities of McLean County on the first Saturday of each month. We appreciate you working with us to meet this need. Please

be praying for our county government, schools, communities and churches. Prayer is a pow-erful tool and we need it more today than ever before! Reminders and prayer guides will be emailed to those on our e-mail list prior to each month’s event. If you are not receiving in-

formational e-mails from the church, please contact the office. (309) 962-6491.

Thank you to all who baked cookies, donated money or worked at registration tables and helped make our Hop On For Hope Bike Ride

such a big success. Every dime of the money goes to help the Village of Hope Orphanage in Guatemala.
