Features:
The Dawncraft 25 offers plenty of room for a family of 4, as the cabin divides into 2
areas.
The main cabin comprises long galley with plenty of worktop and cupboard space, full
height cubicle for toilet, tall cupboard for stowing the table if not required and a dinette
which comfortably seats 4 and makes up into a double bed.
Separated by a curtain divider, the forward cabin offers U shaped seating which makes up
into a double or 2 single berths.
The very front of the front cabin provides ample seating comprising of a large V that goes
under the front deck so that this converts into a large double berth.
A drop-in table converts this area from casual seating into formal dining.
The left hand side of the V extends to create additional seating. This extension is large
enough to convert into an additional single berth. Storage space beneath.
Wooden kitchen units house a Flavel gas cooker with 2 burners, grill and oven; stainless
sink and drainer with whale tap linked to internal water tank (Plastic 20 litres). The area
is well lit by 2 fluorescent lights.
The dining and forward cabin seating area are covered in a blue check fabric and
windows have matching blue curtains.
Under the left hand seating area is the battery and the battery isolation switch. Under the
right hand seating area is a large locker. Both these areas are accessed by lifting the
cushion and seat board. Under the forward cabin seats there are further lockers, accessed
from the front, so saving the need for lifting the cushions and seat.
Lights feature above the cupboard that sits between the toilet and the dinette, as well as
either side of the bulk head that divides the 2 areas.
The interior has wipe clean tongue and groove headlining. Sides are carpet lined in dove
grey. The windows on the cabin portside were replaced in 2011. The floor has a wood
effect vinyl covering.
There is a good sized mirror on the front of the toilet cubicle door and a brass ship’s bell
just above the table storage cupboard, the top of which acts as a supplementary shelf.
Within the toilet cubicle there is a free standing portable toilet.
There is a vent in the centre of the cabin roof above the dinette and another above the
front seating area.
The good size well gives lots of extra space for socialising, with captain and co captain
chairs, plus rear bench that seats 3 to 4 people. Along the edge of this is a safety rail.
The canopy gives good weather protection. It attaches along the front of the fold down
windscreen and is in serviceable condition.
Under the centre of the bench seat there is an open locker that extends out to give access
to the engine.
A locker to the right of this houses the fuel tank and to the left the Calor Gas cylinder
(4.5kg), which is housed in a separate metal container in line with Boat Safety Scheme
requirements.
On the wooden consul is a switch that was to link to an electric start feed from the
engine. This work unfortunately has not been completed.
There are also 2 spot lights for internal lighting.
Exterior
A reasonably wide gunwale featuring metal rubbing strake allows for external access
down the cabin sides; the cabin top features a grab rail. There are fenders on the front,
sides and rear corners; the starboard side rear fender is smaller than the port one in order
to avoid catching in locks. (One of these is damaged).
The boat was out of the water for anti-fouling in Spring 2021. These shots were taken
before the work was done, thereby showing the true condition of the hull
Other
There is evidence of leaks within the cabin, as the photos below show.
There is also a leak in the cockpit area, we believe that the sealant has gone that joins the
cabin to the hull.
Annie is a graceful old lady that makes an excellent starter boat for a couple or family
looking to see if canal boating is for them. She is ideal for the enthusiastic DIY boater.
A selection of cruising essentials is included for immediate get away.
