SPECIFICATIONS FOR

"READY-MIX CONCRETE"

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS: Bidding of material will be by quadrants as indicated on the map furnished herein. Bids must be F.O.B. delivered to projects anywhere in each quadrant bid and include all costs associated with winter operations, such as plant heating and mix heat, along with any and all fuel surcharges and state excise taxes, etc. Delivery must be made during working hours of day decided (7:30 am to 4:00 pm) with a 24-hour advance notice given by County personnel. All materials must meet the approval of the Tuscarawas County Engineer and/or his authorized personnel. In addition to the standard concrete mixes being bid, a special "beam mix" shall be bid. The "beam mix" shall be Class C, 5000 psi, 6 1/2 bag minimum mix with superplastisizer. This mix shall have a slump of 2" when delivered to jobsite and a slump of 7" following the addition of superplasticizer. The cost per cubic yard shall include the necessary superplasticizer along with all costs associated with winter operations, such as plant heating and mix heat, along with any and all fuel surcharges and state excise taxes, etc. In the event the low bidder of a quadrant is unable to supply the quantities requested by the County, after a receipt of a telephone call, the County shall have the option of purchasing for use in said quadrant the same materials from one of the other suppliers. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked "READY-MIX CONCRETE" to the Tuscarawas County Commissioners' Office at 125 East High Avenue, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663, prior to the bid opening.
