This semester, the Visual Arts Classes at Heritage have been introduced to something new! This new and creativeidea is called “Tape Scupture†and it is a fun and enjoyable way for students to show their creativity. Theprocess has received plenty of attention due to the way Artist Mark Jenkins has chosen to display his work. Jenkins chooses to do full body shells whereas our Visual Art students did hand gestures. According to HA ArtTeacher, Mr. Cary Haycox, “The object of this assignment is more about communication through thesegestures.†HA Art students will soon be working on full body tape sculptures.

Our Patriobotics team is ahead of schedule to finish production by Feb. 19th. In the last week they havesuccessfully controlled their robot both wirelessly by the joystick, and in the autonomous mode. This means thepre-planned computer code has been able to move about the robot while they are hands-off. This is a requirementfor the first 15 seconds of each round. They are about to begin construction on the chute for dumping frisbees intothe goal, and they have a prototype shooter that can shoot a frisbee nearly 60 feet! A huge thanks to their brilliantmentors for helping to guide our students through the process. Follow their progress on their facebook page:www.facebook.com/HAPatriobotics
