Mr. Mohd Jefri Samaroon He is a lecturer in the Department of Performing Arts and Production Technology, Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak. He holds a Bachelor of Cinematography (UNIMAS) and a Masters in Screen Studies at the School of Communication, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He began his career as a tutor since 2009 and started lecturing in UNIMAS since 2012, soon after he graduated From Universiti Sains Malaysia. He has been teaching various courses of his interest for example Film Editing, Scriptwriting, and Videography. He excels in the digital video production, documentary, animation and instructional multimedia. He have produced many short films for YouTube contents as well as to film festivals around Asean.

Course Objectives The course aims to fulfill these objectives: 1. To relate fundamental principles, concepts
and techniques to the aesthetic aspect of digital filmmaking
2. To show basic skills in operating digital video camera and display knowledge in basic video lighting, sound recording and non-linear editing in a digital short video production
3. To use organisational skills and effectively collaborate as a team in a digital short video production
This course introduces the fundamental principles of image creation, composition and framing in using digital video camera. Students will be exposed to the concepts and techniques of digital filmmaking with emphasis on aesthetical aspect of digital video production. The course will also include basic video lighting, sound recording, and non linear editing.
