Do not call to mind the former things, or ponder the things of the past. Behold, I will do something new, now it will spring forth, will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.- Isaiah 43:18,19

Outline: I. Isa 58:1-14 Real or Bluff? II. Isa 59:1-15a Facing the Facts III. Isa 59:15b-21 Wrath and Rescue For reflection: 1. What displeased God about Israel’s motivations for its religious practices? What similar motivations might we have in relating to God today?

Baptism & Membership Class #3 (20 & 27 Oct, 3 & 10 Nov) with Baptism on 8 Dec 2019 Baptism is a public proclamation of our faith, that we’ll follow Jesus as Lord, having believed in Him as the One who died for our sins to be reconciled to God. Come attend the baptism classes to prepare yourself & clarify your convictions as we learn more about how to grow & serve together in this BFEC community. Membership Transfer: You only need to attend 2 sessions: 3 & 10 Nov. Following from where we left off in Isaiah 55, what more can be said? For Isaiah has already told of the deliverance through Cyrus of the Jewish exiles from Babylonian captivity, of the Suffering Servant who saves God’s people, and of the promised restoration of and return to Zion. But in the oft-difficult time of the “now” & the “not yet”, who will live by faith as we await the consummation of God’s wonderful promises? And who will forsake such a glorious salvation and face God’s fearsome final judgment? As we conclude our Isaiah sermon series with Isaiah 56-66, may we be spurred to live faithfully in the sure hope of our Lord’s salvation & victorious return & His promised new creation, & be glad & rejoice in Him, with all the redeemed of the nations, forever. Let us pray for Dr Philip Satterthwaite, Dr Tan Lai Yong, Jason Sin, Elders Ernest Chew, Melville Szto, Daryl Liu, Joshua Quek as they take us through the series.

Isaiah 56 to 66: Waiting and Ready for His Return (8 - part Sermon Series)

Parents dedicating their child to our Lord not only seek God’s blessings and guidance in the up-bringing of their child but also the loving accountability and fellow-ship of church members. Application forms are available in the church office. Closing date: 20 October
