What is iMATRICPLUS? iMatricPlus is a programme for high-potential learners and a sure-

fire way to get ahead and prepare yourself for life after school. The programme guides you through everything from goal setting and designing a network action plan to gaining commercial awareness and finding a solid career path.

The programme is aimed at guiding, preparing and connecting learners to a

prosperous future, as well as offering them the necessary protection.

The 2%’er Factor The economy, and ultimately the world, are managed and directed by a mere 2% of the population. People who are positive, directed and prepared for the future.

The other 98% simply turn the wheels and follow the 2%’ers. High-potential

learners, in other words you, have the potential to turn into a 2%’er.

However, it’s easy to become part of the 98% if you do not hone your skills and differentiate yourself. You might be an achiever at your school, but there are more than 5 000 schools nationwide, all with their own achievers. The reality is that you are just a percentage.

What makes you different? You need a plan to ensure that you differentiate

yourself and find a competitive edge.

The bridge phase, between the ages of 17 and 20, is where you'll have to define yourself as either a 2%'er or one of the other 98%. The iMatricPlus programme supports and guides you over a period of 12 months. Reaching goals, building relationships and setting yourself up for post matric takes time. Our complete structure is designed for you to grow step by step – NOT QUICK FIX!

Why you need iMATRICPLUS

1. Academics is not enough It’s about much more than looking good on paper or earning badges for your blazer. There are more than 600 000 learners who leave school each year. Competition will be tight going forward, but with iMatricPlus, you'll be able to set up a strategy for future success.

2. It's who you know The ‘what you know’ lays the foundation, but it’s the ‘who you know’ which is the key to advancing. iMatricPlus offers you a platform to start networking right from the beginning. You’ll build the necessary contacts and relationships before your peers even start working.

3. The statistics are against you

34% of the Matrics who make it to tertiary studies drop out in their first year. A further 24% drop out in their second year and as little as 19% of tertiary students complete their studies in the allocated period. Surely it gets better when you get a job, right? Unfortunately, only 15% of qualified people work in their field of study.

4. The school system does not provide you with all the skills Even though you spend more than a decade at school, the traditional academic institutions do not prepare you for many of life’s curve balls. You need a solid foundation of knowledge about commercial awareness, independent learning techniques and the importance of online identity, as well as skills such as directed networking, to make it in the world of work.

5. It is all about the money After school, you’ll find your list of expenses rapidly growing - study loans, textbooks, a car, insurance, gas, food etc. - and when you’re not paying someone else money, you’re trying to figure out how to make money. iMatricPlus supplies you with the proper guidance to handle every little expense, as well as assistance with tertiary institutions and qualifications, so you will not waste money.

Your first and foremost support will come from your Micro Manager, but they are not the only people working towards your future: Area Managers, the National Manager and Head Office are all on constant standby to assist you.

Your network will consist of more than 400 tertiary study institutions, with the support system of lecturers, career guidance counselors and industry role players, both national and international connections and the business sector.

Because of our thriving network, we are able to source any information you may need.

Whatever you need and whenever you need it, there will always be a someone on standby for the Skype Call Centre - Skype with your Micro Manager, Area Manager or even the National Manager.

It’s as easy as pressing the video chat button and asking your questions. They will be there for guidance or any assistance with the course material.

Getting you started

Workshop

Online Dashboard

The two-day workshop is aimed at becoming acquainted with your online dashboard and network, as well as working through some of the assessments and Skype Call Centre.

You will also have a one-on-one session with your Micro Manager to discuss the support structure for the next 12 months.

DAY1: (2 – 3 Hours) One-on-One, Network meet-and-greet (Skype), Assessments

Day2: (2 – 3 Hours) Feedback, setting goals for the future

Your online dashboard serves as your reference source and gateway to communicating with tertiary institutions, your Micro Manager and any additional contacts you have acquired.

You’ll find everything you need to help you complete the iMatricPlus course right on the dashboard.

12 Month SUPPORT We offer support on everything from application, documentation and deadlines to career guidance, studying abroad and professional athletics.

We help with post-matric accommodation, matric holiday plans, obtaining your driver's license, setting up a professional CV and job shadowing.
