Enrolling in the Microsoft Partner Program (MSPP) is required before enrolling in the Microsoft Windows Embedded Partner Program (WEPP) because WEPP uses the MSPP authentication system, which is based on Windows Live ID (WLID).

There is no charge associated with the application process for either MSPP or WEPP. However, Windows Embedded Partners must continue to meet the program requirements to maintain their active status in the program.

To see more information on MSPP, go to https://partner.microsoft.com/global/40009570

To see more information on WEPP, go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/embedded/partners/join/default.mspx

WEPP remains a stand-alone program and does not require its members to engage in MSPP beyond enrolling as registered partners.

To see details on how to enroll in MSPP, see “How to Enroll in MSPP for WEPP”

The enrollment steps must be completed in the order that they are presented. Fordetailed instructions on how to enroll in the Microsoft Partner Program as a potential member of the Windows Embedded Partner Program, see How to Enroll in MSPP for WEPP.

A single person, the primary contact, must complete the initial enrollment steps.

Once the primary contact has completed all the steps, including enrolling the company in WEPP, other contacts at the company may associate themselves with the partner. To do so, they must also complete steps 2 and 3.

There is an alternative step #3 – if the company is already enrolled in MSPP, the primary contact must associate his/herself with the company’s MSPP membership

There may be an extra task for step #3 – if the Doing Business As Name (DBA Name) for the company is not in English, the primary contact must change the name, or if the primary contact is not the administrator for the company, the primary contact must work with the company’s administrator to change the DBA Name.

Note: a company may have many different memberships in MSPP, e.g. the company’s location in Beijing may create a membership and the company’s location in Singapore may create a membership. This is not the case with WEPP. In WEPP, the rule is one company=one membership. If you have questions regarding your company, contact the Windows Embedded Partner team at [email protected].

If the Company Doing Business As Name is not in English, you’ll need to return to your MSPP profile to update the information. It may take up to 48 hours for the changes to propagate into the WEPP system.

The Primary Contact is responsible for enrolling and maintaining the company’s profile in WEPP. The Primary Contact receives communications regarding the Windows Embedded Partner program and other Windows Embedded news from Microsoft. Additional Primary Contacts may be added per other office location.
