It provides com- plete data acquisition of applied torque, angle of fastener rotation, clamp load and thread torque. This system allows graphing of any input verus any other such as torque vs. angle, torque vs. clamp load, etc., and also provides multiple plotting ca- pabilities so that plots of several tests can be overlaid. When thread torque is meas- ured, the LabMaster Professional can calculate friction coefficients to help determine fastener performance. RS Technologies provides calibration services for this and their other torque and force products at its A2LA Accredited Calibration Laboratory in Farmington Hills, Michigan. Three-In-One System:Test, Analyze, CertifyThe LabMaster Professional is an advanced,multi-purpose system designed to testthreaded fasteners, analyze bolted joints, andcertify power tools. It’s comprised of two com-ponents: the LabMaster Professional modulethat contains data acquisition and drive motorinterface capabilities, and a laptop or desktopPC running the LabMaster for Windows® test-ing software. The module and computer in-terface using a USB port.

Simple Test SetupEmploying full Windows® functionality withdrop-down menus and point-and-click fea-tures, the LabMaster for Windows® softwareprovides a user-friendly graphic interface. Op-erator can program the desired shutoff basedon torque, angle of turn, or clamp load; tooltorque output; and tool speed. The operatorcan also quickly make changes to existing testsetups, easily select different tools and trans-ducers, or view results of previous tests. Aneasily accessed transducer parameter andtest setup directory further simplifies testingsetup.

Easy OperationOnce the test is set up, the LabMaster Pro-fessional module conducts all of the motorcontrol and data acquisition operations. Aspecial drive motor override safety featureterminates the test when transducer or loadcell capacities are exceeded. The recordeddata are then displayed and managed on thecomputer for access to network printers,archiving, and communications.

Multiple InputsFour analog inputs are available on the Lab-Master Professional module to accept datasignals from the following:

High Speed SamplingThe LabMaster Professional includes a dataacquisition card which provides high-speedsampling of up to 4 kHz (software selectable).Sampling can be done versus a time or anglebasis.

Statistical CalculationsThe LabMaster Professional offers a varietyof statistical reports in numeric and graphicform. Statistical plots of ±3 sigma meancurves provide an insightful data summary.

Real-Time DisplayThe LabMaster Professional and the LabMas-ter for Windows® testing software providereal-time display during the test. A user-se-lectable automatic data save feature for bothnumeric and graphic data speeds techniciantesting time.

Variety of PlotsAfter the test is completed, rundown data andplots may be viewed on the computer display,printed as hard copy, and/or saved for laterdata analysis. Numerous configurable plotscan be generated.

Complete Test SystemsA complete torque-tension test system willtypically include a rotary torque-angle trans-ducer, a thread torque-tension research head,a DC electric tool and controller, and a printerfor numeric and graphic data reports, all ofwhich are available from RS Technologies.

OptionsOptional features include an auxiliary input foran ultrasonic interface, and a tabletop or mo-bile test cart.
