Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo - Division of Student Affairs - University Housing Purpose: The Apartment Living Agreement process will help roommates discuss their preferences for sharing a common living space, create strategies for communication and decide upon mutually agreed upon standards of living. Taking the time upon move-in to discuss your living and communication preferences will promote a more positive apartment living experience. This agreement is specifically focused on RA apartment living expectations. Instructions: Take time individually to think about your preferences and take notes. Then, get together with your roommates and discuss your preferences. Make sure all roommate preferences and voices are heard and repre- sented in the finalized agreement. Upon completion, please return to your Resident Advisor or Front Desk. A copy will be provided to you for your reference. Students who reside in on-campus housing live in a “community”. Everyone has responsibilities not only to themselves but to the community. A positive community is one that is defined as being inclusive, respectful and having a sense of safety. As a member of the Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, University Housing community, you are expected to make mature, responsible and respectful choices regarding your behavior.
