Objective 1 Communicate effectively the project to target groups and public opinion

Action 1.1.1 Study development and monitoring of FOP logo and graphic line

Description

The concept, the planning and the design of the logo and the graphic line were achieved

within the first 3 months from the start of the project. All projects partnership was involved

in this activity, as well as the logo is the result of a collective work, in which every opinion

was considered. In the logo’s graphic is it possible to find every characteristic element of the

project: the historical centers, the sun, the waves as symbol of the Mediterranean sea; the

bridge as symbol of union between Mediterranean’s shores and different cultures.

In order to value communication’s effectiveness, the logo was submitted to a group of 30

people (consistent to target group – age: 25-55 years old) that had to judge it: the logo scored

4,5 on a scale of 1-5. The same score gained on social networks.

Action 1.1.2 Planning design, updating and maintenance of FOP website

Description

Planning and realization of the website was made by Società Geografica Italiana, collecting

partners suggestions both during Partners Meeting both later, with a specific format shared

before website release.

All partners contributed to contents writing: every partner was asked to give every

information needed in order to describe their structure and to explain realized and planned

activities.

Websites graphic and contents were submitted to a group of 30 people (consistent to target

group – age: 25-55 years old) in order to test usability and attractiveness: the websites

scored 4,2 on a scale of 1-5. Contents gained 4 score. Similar scores gained on social

networks.

Action 1.1.3 Production and Dissemination of Informative material

Description

Leaflet. – The leaflet was realized within the first 6 months, but it was later modified and

integrated several times, because of the changes in the partnership and in the project.

The leaflet is composed by several sections that describe the projects features: project

profile; mission and aims; historical centers involved; projects partnership; main actions. It

also has an internal pocket, wherein is possible to insert the cards of the historical center

involved.

Written in English language, the leaflet was sent to the territorial partners that translated

and print it in their languages, in order to spread it during the workshop and during the other

communications event, and to send it to their mailing list.

Press Release. – During this period, some press releases was made in English language and

shared with partners, in order to disseminate projects activities to the news agencies and to

the media of every country.

Objective 1 Communicate effectively the project to target groups and public opinion

Action 1.2.1 PLUS - Organization of Round Tables in the Universities of Southern and

Eastern Stream to involve their territories

Description

This action has to be implemented in cooperation with some universities settled in the

eligible regions of the ENPI CBC MED project. It consists in organizing some round tables in

the historic centers interested in implementing the tourism development model proposed

within FOP and, therefore, in entering the Mediterranean network that will be the final

output of the project. Each event foresees the involvement of representatives of government

institutions, the local University and the all partnership. It should be carried out either in the

old town that we think could join the Mediterranean network or at the local University. The

activity arises primarily from the need to involve municipalities of the southern and eastern

Mediterranean Sea shores following what has already been done by Italian partners in this

first phase that managed to involve in the project - by making them formally join the FOP

activities - almost twenty historical centers. Consequently the activity is be mainly addressed

to the coastal regions of the southern and eastern Mediterranean Sea shores and to the

universities located there.

Level of

implementation 10% 20% 30% 40% 59% 60% 70% 80% 90% 100%

Main results

This activity is "multitasking": it is a communication activity (it explains the project and its

aims), it is an activity of dissemination (it describes the project results and benefits), it is still

an activity of promotion (it fosters the involvement of other historical centers in the

network). Here are the main objectives of this activity:

1. Promoting the subscription to the project and, ultimately, to the Mediterranean

network of "sustainable tourist historic centers";

2. Spreading the knowledge on the FOP project and its aims in the places (local

communities) that are supposed to have direct benefits from the implementation of

the tourism development model proposed by FOP;

3. Raising local governments’ awareness on the need to promote a model of tourism

development focused on the respect for the cultural values of the historic centers and

on the involvement of local communities;

Making new town centers endorse the project through the formal membership of

government institutions concerned and/or representatives of the local communities involved

(membership includes the signature on the part of the representative of the government

institutions of the historic centers of a formal letter of intent following what has been done

by the mayors of some Italian Municipalities).

Action 1.2.2 Workshops organization

Description

I workshop – Some partners had to make territorial reports of the historical centers involved

in the project: all of them realized the first workshop involving local stakeholder in order to

integrate territorial analysis and start building the strategic plan for sustainable development

of tourism in historical centers. This activity brought a good local visibility for the whole

project, involving touristic operators as well as local community actors.

II workshop – Every partner is planning second workshop in order to show the project of

touristic sustainable development and the network. These workshops will take place by

October 2015.
