Key components of governance

Ø Governance  refers  to  the  ac-vity  or  process  of  decision-­‐making  and  implementaHon;    

 Ø   It  is  broader  than  “government”;    Ø   It  arHculates  how  interests  are  accommodated  and  power  is            exercised  in  a  society;  

Ø It  includes  formal  and  informal  rules;  

Ø   Quality  dimensions  or  principles:  accountability,  parHcipaHon,  transparency  and  the  rule  of  law;  

 Ø It  is  contextual.
