God’s grace welcomes you, no matter who you are or where you are from—and so do we. We

believe that Jesus Christ is the true Savior of all people. By his perfect life, innocent death, and

triumphant resurrection he saves all lost sinners even without our help. Jesus Christ makes us

special people, right with God and ready for life! We learn this from the Bible, God’s authentic

message of grace and guidance for us. Whether you are a first time visitor or a returning

guest, we are delighted to share our worship with you. You are always welcome here. If there

is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable, please let us know. The restrooms

are located down the hall opposite the sanctuary, and there is also a cry room with toys across

from the coat racks. Please worship with us again soon!

P: Beloved in the Lord: let us draw near with a true heart and confess our sins to God our

Father, asking him in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to grant us forgiveness. C: Holy and merciful Father, I confess that I am by nature sinful and that I have

disobeyed you in my thoughts, words, and actions. I have done what is evil and failed to do what is good. For this I deserve your punishment both now and in eternity. But I am truly sorry for my sins, and trusting in my Savior Jesus Christ, I pray: Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Proverbs 9:1-6

C: I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

Wednesday Bible Study Summer Schedule—Do you struggle to read through your Old Testament with any clarity? Join us for our Wednesday morning Bible Study where we’ll seek to shed light on the Old Testament based on a book entitled Connecting Sinai to Calvary. Bible Study is from 10:00-11:30 a.m. 19 Minutes with Luther—Through the Summer months we will return to our 19-Minute Bible Study produced by Northwestern Publishing House. This Bible Study will take us week by week through Luther’s Small Catechism, this summer focusing on the Apostles’ Creed. We hope you can join us! Free Rummage at Grace—Grace will be hosting a free rummage on Saturday, September 12th during the Prairie du Chien city-wide garage sale. We hope that this community service event provides an opportunity to build a relationship with those in our area and provide for those who are in need. Please see the flyers and sign-up sheets in the back of church for more information or talk to Liz Naumann or Gracie White. Also start saving any donations you would like to contribute for us to offer to our community. Thank you for your help! Elkader Musical—On Sunday, October 4th at 2:00 p.m. the Elkader Opera House is presenting Shrek the Musical. Our church has reserved a block of seats for the night if you are interested in attending. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for High School age children and under. Tickets must be paid for by Sunday, September 6th to reserve seating. Please see the sign up sheet in the back of church if you’d like to attend, and money can be paid to Christina Hopp who will take care of ticket purchasing. Prior to the musical we are invited to gather at the Hopp’s house for fellowship. Preschool Open House—Our preschool open house will be held this Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. to introduce the preschool families to our church and facility. Any members are welcome to attend in order to help set up for the open house and to introduce the preschool families to our church. For more information talk to Debi Bahlmann. Victory Service for Laurie Burow—We will have a Christian Funeral Service for Laurie Burow this Saturday, August 29th at 2 p.m. here at Grace Church. The visitation will be at church before the service from 12-2. There will be a luncheon following the service.
