a pilot network to improve health care and social support for patients suffering from severe and rare genetic skin diseases

• In 2003, the Fondation René Touraine initiates a network on raregenetic skin diseases, the Genodermatoses Network.

• Thanks to the involvement of dermatologists from eU, Mediterranean and Middle-eastern countries and the support of a founding member, the Laboratoires Pierre fabre, the Genodermatoses Network aims to:

- at the national level: help patients and families who face majordifficulties - due to the severity and the rarity of genodermatoses - to have access to appropriate health care and social support; - at the european, Mediterranean and Middle-east levels:strengthen a network of experts and centers of expertise in raregenetic skin diseases.

• each year, an international working session gets together thepartners of the "Genodermatoses Network".

• In 2008, this network obtains a european recognition being co-funded for 3 years by the European Commission (agreementnumber: 2007 335 TAG).

• as the taG project’s coordinator, the President of the fondationrené touraine has been designated as an expert to the europeanUnion committee of experts on rare diseases (eUcerd).

• 5 fellowships every year • 1 fellowship of 18.000 € and 4 of 4.500 €• A 20-year investment of 645 000 euros in support of 104 laureates from 25 countries and ofinternational collaborations in dermatological research

an international network to improve the access to quality healthcare for psoriatic patients

• Since 2005, PIN gathers some 95 countries. The founding mee-ting of the Psoriasis International Network was held in Paris in2005. To liven up this international network, it was proposed to:

- set up a website: www.psoriasis-international.org;- organize every 3 years the international congress on Psoriasis focusing on practitioners;- publish a regular newsletter.

• PIN gathers dermatologists, rheumatologists, scientists, caregivers, patient associations involved in the psoriasis management. It aims to:

- at the national level: improve the access to quality health carefor psoriatic patients by developing interconnected thematic pso-riasis outpatient consultations in dermatology departments;- at the international level: fostering international collaborationsfor clinical and therapeutic research in the field of psoriasis.

• PIN is a joint action of the FRT and the Psoriasis Task Force of theEADV.

1 . Since 2005, the Fondation René Touraine has published for free on the web the French book

therapeutique dermatologique, a reference book in dermatology (1288 pages and 333 authors).

2 . Towards a worldwide e-dermatology portal open to the diversity of opinions and functioning as

a permanent congress:• With its 1 million visitors a year from 141 countries, this e-book is now being translated into english(therapeutics in dermatology)

• It will be completed with comments of opinion leaders to take into account the diversity of therapeutic strategies in the world.

tWo PreStiGioUS LectUreS

• an annual prestigious lecture at the european Society of dermatological research (eSdr) annual congress.

Since 2004, the Fondation René Touraine organises a lecture during the annual ESDR meeting.Since 2011, the FRT research fellowships’ winners are presented at the René Touraine Lecture.

• an annual prestigious lecture at the european academy of dermatology and Venereology(eadV) annual congress.

Since September 2012, the Fondation René Touraine organises a René Touraine Lecture during the annual EADV congress.
