QUOTES ABOUT BUFFALO’S WORK

(On The Road Goes on Forever.)“This is truly the “Bible” of the Allman Brothers Band.”-Chuck Leavell (musical director and keyboardist for

the Rolling Stones. Former member of the Allman Brothers band.)

"Michael Buffalo Smith as a musician, writer, critic, andsouthern music historian really gets it. His taste and deepappreciation for the real thing are qualities that inspire all of us in his wake. And it's a big wake." - Billy Bob Thornton, (Oscar & Golden Globe Winnerand Rock Drummer)

"Michael Buffalo Smith begins Rebel Yell aptly with an in-sight of Charlie Daniels', that the brotherhood betweenSouthern musicians is the unifying force behind the genre"Southern Rock" more than any single musical styleshared by bands from the South. Smith then invites us tosit at the table with the heroes and legends of the diversegenre: the players, technicians, crew members andfriends. . .It is fitting that this history is expressed in thevivid voices of the people who lived it, many who we havesince lost. There is no prouder southern tradition than thelove of storytelling, except maybe the love of playing musictogether. Rebel Yell is a gift Smith has given back to themusicians he has always loved, and we all benefit from re-ceiving it." - Galadrielle Allman (Daughter of Duane Allman)

(Author of Please Be with Me: A Song for My Father)

"Michael Buffalo Smith has done it again! Just when youthink you’ve read everything there is to know about South-ern Rockers, here he comes again with a wealth of infoon the fathers of the genre—The Allman Brothers Band! This is a “must read!”-Paul Hornsby (Record Producer, Keyboardist, found-

ing member of Hourglass with Duane and Gregg Allman)

“This is a wonderful way to enter the world of southernrock. Rebel Yell, straight from the horse’s mouth - or out ofthe mouths of babes - however you put it, Michael BuffaloSmith has again shown why he is "The Ambassador ofSouthern Rock!" I found out things about friends that wehad never discussed, and we discussed a lot. Thanks Buffalo.” - Tommy Talton, Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter (founding member of Cowboy)

“It's really hard to argue with anything in Michael's book.(Rebel Yell) Every word's a quote! He did an amazing jobof compiling these mini-stories that are not drawn out orboring. Highly recommended!” - Ed King (Guitarist,Lynyrd Skynyrd)

“Michael is the Flannery O’Connor of Southern music- in-tegrity of music and literature. These [the artists in thisbook] are only a few of the great people and things Buffalo

has written about over the last thousand years.” - Col Bruce Hampton (Performing Artist)

“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Michael B. for a longtime. On a personal note, I love and appreciate his work, es-pecially about nd friends that have been such a blessing -Paul T. Riddle (Founding drummer of theMarshall Tucker band and frequent fill-in drummer forthe Allman Brothers)

“There will never been enough books written about theABB, fans just want more! Michael’s The Road Goes onForever joins the list of must haves for everyone’s growinglibrary. Covering 50 remarkable years, this one is packedwith some great stories, interviews and, of course, Michael’sinsights on recordings, events and musical connectionswith other artists and the musical industry. Another classic!”

-Sandy Wabegijig "Blue Sky" (Former wife of DickeyBetts, Mother of Jessica)
