Dances: chotisThe Chotis is the most important dance in Madrid. Appears in 1850 and the first time that was danced was on the Palacio Real, the 3 of november.

InstrumentThe instrument that they use is the hurdy-gurdy (organillo).

Party and celebrationSan Isidro: is celebrated around a period of some days around the 15th of May. Takes place on La pradera de San Isidro.

Party and celebrationLa verbena de la Paloma: is a summer celebration that takes place on Calatrava. Is celebrated in honor of la virgen de la Paloma around de 15th of August .

ZarzuelaZarzuelais a Spanish lyric-dramatic genre that alternates between spoken and sung scenes, it includes popular songs, as well as dance.

ZarzuelaThe name derives from the Palacio de la Zarzuela. The place was called "La Zarzuela" because of the profusion of zarzas.

The zarzuela boom came in the XIXth century. It collected all kinds of regionalisms:
