Objective

To identify the unicellular and muticellular organisms.

To classify unicellular and multicellular organisms.

Multicellular Organisms

Multicellular organisms are complex organisms that made up of many cells.

Multicellular organisms have many types of different cells with its special function. This caused them to have a huge size in shape.

Unicellular Organisms

Organisms that consist of only one cell are called unicellular organisms.

These organisms usually live in water. Some of them such as bacteria and yeast can even live in air and human body.

Examples Of Unicellular Organisms

Differences of Multicellular and Unicellular Organisms

Unicellular organisms are organisms that can survive without the help of other cells. They are complex as the cell is complex. Many people consider them simple creatures. There is nothing simple concerning the cell.

A multicelluler organisms is much more complex since there is an interdependence of cells making up their body. Their cells seem to be more specialized in a way as to complement the entire organism. Their cells have lost their independence and cannot live alone out side the organism. The entire organism depends upon the health of all its cells to survive. Nerve cells cannot do what muscle cells can do functionally. In a single celled organism they have the mechanisms to move, reproduce, sense the environment all in one.

Discussion

1. Unicellular organisms are organisms that are made up of one cell.

2. They cannot be seen by naked eye because they are very small ; Unicellular Organisms Multicellular Organisms they can only be seen under the microscope so they are also called microorganisms.

3. They are simple organisms that can carry out all the life processes.

4. Multicellular organisms are organisms that are made up of manycells.

5. Most of them can be seen with naked eyes. Some multicellular organisms can only be seen under microscope. These multicellular organisms are called multicellular microorganisms.

6. They can be complex organisms; their bodies can perform different functions and made up of various types of cells.

Conclusion

1. Organisms can be classified into unicellular organisms and multicellular organisms.

2. Examples of unicellular organisms are amoeba ,chlamydomonas, euglena, yeast and paramecium.

3. Examples of multicellular organisms are mucor, hydra, spirogyra, moss and eagle.
