energyprojectsinthepastdecade.OriginallyVanOordfocused

onconstructionactivitiessuchasexportandinter-arraycable

installation,scourprotectionandseabedpreparation.

Since2002wehaveexpandedouractivitieswithfoundation

andturbineinstallationtoprovideourclientswithanintegrated

installationpackage.

In2007VanOordestablishedaseparatebusinessunitOffshore

Wind(OW)toconsolidateallactivitiesforoffshorewindfarm

construction.Sincethenwehavebeenresponsibleforthe

design,engineering,procurementenconstruction(EPC)of

manywindfarmsinEuropefortheBalanceofPlantscope.

offshoreinstallationvesselfortransportandinstallationof

foundationsandwindturbines,whichbecameoperationalin

spring2014.Thevesselis139.40mlong,38.06mwideand

isfittedwithacranecapableofhoistingover990tonnes.In

spring2015VanOord’sfirstcable-layingvesselforconstructing

offshorewindparksbecameoperational.TheNexusis122.68m

longandisequippedwitha5,000tonscarouselanda100tons

knuckle-boomcrane.
