“Focus Trainer”Description

Focus Trainer is a powerful game that trains a child’s attention, especially if the child suffers from attention deficit such as ADHD.   Focus Trainer combines findings from neuroscience and modern gaming to have better control of attention. All what the child has to do is to catch fireflies in a set time and in increasing difficulty. Afterwards, a test can assess how much progress the child has made.

Functionality

When you start playing Focus Trainer, jump right into Focus Level 1. You will unlock levels as you progress. In an interval of 2 minutes, the purpose is to press on the screen when the firefly is in a circle.

As the level gets harder, the firefly disappears when inside the circle. This requires more attention to approximate where the firefly is. Then, the firefly disappears outside the circle. Finally, the firefly appears once outside the circle which also disappears

Test option:

Another option in this application is the ability to do an attention test. The rules are simple : a number is assigned at random like 5, 3,etc.. The screen is to be tapped after all numbers except this number. The application measures the time taken to assess a person’s progress.

Before starting the test, a person is asked about his location (work, home, quiet place..) and state of mind ( focused, distracted,…). This is taken into consideration in the calculations of progress.

The best way to understand the functionality is by watching it.

the scientific field in all the calculations and the gaming field with an interesting firefly catching game. This application is very helpful for children with ADHD. It also can be used to help healthy individuals to increase their concentration.

This game however needs a minimum of 2 to 3 plays per day to feel the effect.
