What is Focus Night?Focus Night is your opportunity to meet some of the biggest and most exciting engineering com-panies in Denmark. Each Focus Night has a speci� c theme, which focuses on a certain area of en-gineering. Normally one Focus Night has participation of between two and four companies who want to meet engineering students and

in the daily life of real engineers. At the Focus Night you will have the possibility to hear two presenta-tions of one hour each. � at means you can hear the presentaion of two di� erent companies.

A� er the presentation session there will be a question session. Here you will be able to ask the questions you may have to the company.

A� er the presentation and ques-tion sessions have ended there will be served free dinner. During the dinner you will have the possibility to talk further and informal with the representatives from the com-panies.

And, they are highly present within a wide range of industries. � e world depends on them, but many pumps are also serious energy wasters, leaving be-hind a signi� cant carbon footprint. � is is because today’s pumps ac-count for no less than 10% of the world’s electricity consumption and because the majority of elec-tricity is still produced using fossil fuels.

In fact, most people have no idea what a pump does, or where you would � nd one in their business. Arla Strategic In-novation Centre (ASIC), with fa-cilities in Denmark and Sweden, was inaugurated in 2011. Arla’s in-novation strategy evolves around the consumer and is brought to life through ASIC’s � ve focal ar-eas: sustainability, new food forms, manufacturing e� ciency, milk power, and microbiology. ASIC plays a leading role in converting ideas into products to be o� ered on the market – and works as a bridge between the marketing de-partment and innovation.

ASIC ASIC includes a sensoric panel, laboratories within microbiology, functionality and protein chemis-try. Pilot plant trials are conducted in our pilot plant facilities in ASIC, while large scale trials takes place at our production sites. In ASIC we partner up with di� erent de-partments within Arla to develop new products, we drive research projects both internally in Arla and in collaboration with universities as well as partner up in open inno-vation with other companies. Ad-ditionally we assist the production sites in ad hoc assignments.
