Valencia Pointe Political Discussion Club NEW

The political diversity and polarization of the American public, as reflected by the extreme differences and lack of cooperation between our political parties led to the creation of the Valencia Pointe Political Discussion Club. The mission of our club will be to establish a

forum to address the critical problems that face Florida and our nation. PDC sessions will provide our Valencia Pointe neighbors with an analysis, education, and costs of the critical political proposals that are in the news everyday; i.e. the costs and benefits associated with new legislation as compared to the price of continuing with a “business as usual” policy for our nation

with few, if any, new programs. A broad range of topics and issues will be covered. Our speakers will be civil, and we fully expect our audience to tolerate political views other than their own. The Political Discussion Club will be chaired by Ken Sommers, Art Feingold and Larry Simon. Each session will be led by a moderator. We plan to meet twice a month from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Social Hall. Meetings are scheduled on March 9, 23 and April 13.

Valencia SoundsOpen to musicians and singers of all genres and proficiencies who want to play for the love of music. If you are interested, please call Gary Knepler at 203-650-1017.

closer. The Women’s Club is always open to new members and everyone is encouraged to join and grow with us! Dues are $25/yr through 12/31/10 and can be paid by check made out to “VP Women’s Club” and dropped in the Club Drop Box or at a meeting when checking in. We have had some wonderful programs through the Community Action Committee including the October 4 Meet and Greet our Local Officials. Also the committee sponsored a meeting with COWBRA (Coalition of West Boynton Residential Association) at which we obtained important information which aided in the turnover of the community from GL to the homeowners and the formation of the new Homeowner’s Association (HOA). The Community Outreach Committee is focused on providing support to those in need outside the gates of Valencia Pointe. “Operation Shoebox” collected items needed for daily living for children who reside at “A Children’s Place/HomeSafe”, a residential community for abused and abandoned children. “The Giving Tree” also provided gifts for the holiday season. Home-cooked meals were delivered to the Fire Station for the holidays as a thank you for being there for us. The Sunshine Committee provides support within the community by welcoming new neighbors and responding with help in good times as well as difficult situations.
