It’s a great feelingknowing that yougave thatfamilyanexperiencethattheywillalwaysremember.Thechal-lengingpartsofthejobarewhenissueshappenthatcan’tbeavoided.Forexampleflightsdelaysorcancellations.It’sterribleseeingsomeonemissapartoftheirtripareasonthatyoucan’tprevent for them,butunfortunately itdoeshappenand thatiswhatmakeshavingatraveladvisorsovaluable.Insituationslikethatwespringintoactionandimmediatelyworktofindasolutionassoonaspossibleandwealsoworktogetcompensa-tionfortheclient.Thisissuchahugerelieftotheclientwhentheystarttopanicinthesesituationsandtheycancallusand

Our‘Spotlight’forJanuaryisonMichaelBrown.HewassworninasaCASAonMay6,2019.Hisadvocacyconsistedofmeetingwiththefosterparentsandthebiologicalmotherandreporthisobservations.HemetregularlywithhisCASAchildandsharedwisdomandvaluableinforma-tionthathelpedhisCASAchild improvenotonlysociallybutalsoacademically.WeappreciateMichael’sadvocacyandaregratefulhehasremainedaconsistentpresenceinthelifeofthechildheserves. Lorio Foundation Donates $35,000 to Stopher Gym Improvements Nicholls State Universityand the Lorio Foundation an-nouncedtodaya$35,000dona-tiontobenefitStopherGymna-siumandtheNichollsVolleyballprogram.Withthegift,Nichollsupgradedthe sound system in StopherGym and added a new volley-ballnet. Thibodaux Regional Medical CenterRecognized by LOPA ThibodauxRegionalHealthSystemisproudtoannouncethatitwasamongaselectgroupofhospitalsnationwiderecognizedforpromot-ingenrollment in stateorgandonor registriesinanational campaign sponsoredby theU.S.Department of Health and Human Services’HealthResourcesandServicesAdministration(HRSA). Thibodaux Regional was awarded SilverRecognitionfromtheLouisianaOrganProcure-mentAgency(LOPA)foritseffortsandpartici-pation in the Workplace Partnership for Life(WPFL) Initiative. This campaign is a specialeffortofHRSA’sWorkplacePartnershipforLifetomobilize the nation’s hospitals to increasethenumberofpeopleinthecountrywhoareregistered organ, eye, and tissue donors andultimately,thenumberoforgansavailablefor
transplant. The shared goal is promoting “adonationfriendlyAmerica”byfosteringorgan,tissueandeyedonationandcreatingopportu-nitiesforindividualstoregister. Thisyear’sinitiativebeganOctober1,2018throughApril2019.Morethan1500hospitalsparticipatedinthenationalcampaignincludingThibodauxRegionalHealthSystem.Duringthattimeperiod,48,000peoplewereaddedtotheregistrynationwide. WithLOPAandthefullsupportofThibodauxRegional’s Administration and staff, the hos-pital conducted awareness and registry cam-paigns to educate staff, patients, visitors, andcommunity members about the critical needfororgan,eye,andtissuedonorsand,bydoingso, increased thenumberofpotentialdonorsontheLOPA’sdonorregistry.
Danos Awarded Delaware Basin Contracts Danos has been awardedtwo major contracts with aleadingTexas-basednaturalgasandoilproductioncompanyforprojectsintheDelawareBasin.Onecontractisforfabrication,construction and installationof central tank batteries. Thesecond is for the fabrication,constructionandinstallationofsaltwaterdisposalfacilities. While the facilities are be-ingconstructedonsiteinNewMexico, Danos will pre-fabri-cate most of the piping in itsLarose,La.,facility,whichisparticularlyhelpfulduringthewintermonthswhenharshweathercancauseprojectdelays,qualityconcernsandincreaseddrivingrisks. “Ourfabricationfacilityenvironmentremovestheexternalfactoroftheweather,whichal-lowsustobehighlyefficient,”saidownerEricDanos.“Ontopofthat,theseprojectsarecam-paignwork,wherewetakethesamedesignandreplicatethesameprocess,whichenablesustodeliverefficiencyandcostsavingstoourcustomers.” Danos’fabrication,construction,andinstrumentationandelectricalservicelineswillbeuti-lized for thecontracts, thefirstofwhichbegan inearlyOctober.Combined, theprojectswillenlistover80Danosemployeesacrossthethreeservicelinestocompletethework. DanoshasworkedinthePermianandDelawarebasinssince2012andhasover500employ-eesinthearea.HeadquarteredinGray,La.,thecompanyhas3,000employeeswithadditionalofficelocationsinLafayette,LaroseandAmelia,La.,andinHouston,KenedyandMidland,Texas.
Nicholls Announces Interim AthleticsDirector LindseyMcKaskle,executiveassociateath-letics director for internal affairs, has beennamedinterimDirectorofAthleticsatNichollsStateUniversity.McKaskle replacesMattRoan,whohasbeennamedthevicepresidentanddirectorofath-letics at Eastern Kentucky University.
