Company ProfileFNT Advanced Services Ltd is a Maintenance Consulting Company based in Athens,
Greece, established to provide worldwide preventive maintenance services for Industry and Maritime Shipping Companies. Its scope is to manage and support state-of-art maintenance strategies (Proactive maintenance -PdM, Condition Based Maintenance – CBM) through bespoke solutions for its customers.
Using tools such as Vibration Analysis, Infrared Thermography, Acoustic Emission Analysis, Motor Current Evaluation, and Lube Oil Metal Particle Analysis experienced and certified engineers carry out Condition Monitoring activities on-site during machinery operation, or remotely based on online data collecting systems or data collected by customers with their own means.
Services provided by FNT Advanced Services Ltd include but are not limited to: Machinery Condition Monitoring services (CM) Troubleshooting and diagnosis of persistent problems End of Warranty period surveys in order to detect critical components failures and establish
claims Pre dry-docking surveys for all rotating equipment, high pressure piping, electrical power
distribution panels and voltage transformers, in order to contribute to a reduction in time spent in dry dock
Remote data analysis and condition reporting of data collected by client

shipping industry facts and CBMUnskilled labor + time-based inspections have contributed to:• maintenance induced failures • unnecessary work• extreme workload and• unnecessary investments in redundancy.
CBM is a preventive strategy based on routine measurements and analysis. Evaluation of the analysis results determines maintenance & repair actions
requirement. Vibration analysis, IR thermography, Acoustic Emission analysis and Oil analysis are the most commonly used methods for CBM.
Early warning of problems.
A reduction in spare part consumption.
Class approval as an alternative to opening up machines for inspections.
The work is planned & crew has stable working hours.
Reduce the number of work orders, because unnecessary inspections & over-maintenance is avoided.

statistics of machinery failures
• 89% of failures are random and not machinery age related. Traditional Planned Maintenance strategy based on operating hours of machinery is not an option when reliability matters.
stages of failure
The earlier the failure detection, the lower the cost to repair and the impact to production.

The most prevalent method for condition monitoring: It verifies at real time machine operation within acceptable limits It reacts immediately to machine condition changes It identifies the cause of problem allowing time for corrective action- before failure.
Other Condition Monitoring Techniques
IR ThermographyA non-destructive inspection technique which uses thewarmth radiation of objects in order to identify malfunctions.
Acoustic Emission (Ultrasound)A non-destruction technique used for early identification of wear and tear on rotating machinery parts, for steam traps malfunction and for high pressure pipeline leakages.
Oil Analysis Wear particles analysis and contamination analysis of oil provides valuable information about machinery condition and early signals of failure.
