The Financial Management Modernization Initiative (FMMI) is an advanced, web-based accounting and financial system

The goals of FMMI are to: Improve financial management performance by

providing USDA with a modern, core financial management system

Modernize the departmental and agency financial and administrative payment and program general ledger systems

Provides a single; operational web based system for all USDA Agencies

FMMI includes 7 major business process areas: Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable Cost Management Funds Management General Ledger Management Periodic Processing Purchasing 1

to re-work same data among multiple systems and reconcile data differences

Requesting FMMI Access

What is needed to obtain FMMI access? Each new user must complete the New User Request form,

provide it to your supervisor, who finalizes the request and submits it to MRPBS FMD Security

Each new user will need an eAuthentication user ID and password to log into FMMI

Complete the required training

Forms and Training can be found on the MRPBS FMMI website, Access for New Users: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/business-services/fmmi

Required Training

To gain access to FMMI, all new users must complete the following training

FMMI Overview (this document) FMMI ECC Overview FMMI Master Data Overview General Ledger (G/L) Overview

Training certificates should be provided to your supervisor plus the completion date must be included on the new user access form. Your supervisor will submit the completed form to MRPBS FMD Security for processing.

How do I find FMMI? Access the FMMI website to launch the application (http://info.fmmi.usda.gov/) You will find the “Login” link along with other useful information on this page

Finding FMMI

Log Into FMMI with your LincPass / eAuth ID & Password

Locate daily system updates and notices

Become familiar with the most up-to date available information, including the latest FMMI News, FAQs and FMMI Glossary

Finding FMMI (Cont.)

You must have eAuthentication user ID and password or login using your LincPass card and clicking on the LincPass (PIV) log in screen.

Sign on to FMMI using either your LincPass (PIV) or eAuthentication user ID and password.

Roles are a group of activities/tasks within a business process that are logically grouped together

Roles ensure that users have access to perform needed tasks and provides financial controls i.e. you must be assigned a role to perform the

corresponding action in FMMI

Roles determine what work users can do in FMMI. Role names describe the work performed in FMMI. For example:

• Evaluator: Ability to display transactions• Reporter: Ability to run reports to display and print• Maintainer: Ability to maintain master data (FMD only)• Administrator: Ability to manage accounts assignments,

derivation rules, etc…• Processor: Ability to create transactions • Approver: Ability to approve transactions at the

supervisory/management level (FMD Only)

FMMI roles determine what activities a user performs. FMMI only shows the modules needed for the roles you have been given.

The Funds Management Module consists of:
