Lightning Rules on the Ramp
There aren’t any rules…at least none from FAA, NTSB, CAP, etc.
Airports and FBO’s set their own standards.
Berry Aviation (and Redbird) Says:Lightning between 5 and 15 miles away…monitor the storm progress and prepareLightning within 5 … all operations cease, evacuate the flight line
Monthly Safety Currency … it is no longer “Grounding”
As per Interim Change Letter – CAPR 62-1 – 29 June 2015
You no longer are required to be “safety current” in order to participate in CAP activities
Monthly Safety Education is STILL required by CAPR 62-1BUT, missing a meeting will not prevent you from participating! However, Bob Klett will poke you in the eye….
Go online to get computer safety training via FAST, AOPA, etc.
Or … let me know, I will mail you the slides.
File your “NASA” form electronically:http://asrs.arc.nasa.gov/report/electronic.html Section 91.25 of the Federal Aviation Regulations (14 CFR 91.25) prohibitsreports filed with NASA from being used for FAA enforcement purposes. Your identity will remain anonymous.File the NASA Report within 10 days of the incident You may file as many NASA Reports as you like…there is no limit.
So….no matter how minor the incident…file a NASA Report
You may only use a NASA Report for immunity from FAA enforcement actions once every five years
