The SENAI Innovation Institute in Manufacturing Systems

and Laser Processing is placed in Joinville, Brazil. It offers

applied research on machine prototypes, intelligent machines,

machining processes, laser material processing such as

additive manufacturing, surface treatment, welding, and

cutting. The SENAI Innovation Institute for Laser Processing is

the first center from Latin America focused on laser material

processing. All the applied research projects are developed in

order to increase the competitiveness of the Brazilian industry.

Fraunhofer IPK

The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design

Technology IPK is placed in Berlin, Germany. It offers applica-

tion-oriented system solutions covering the whole spectrum

of industrial usage – from product development, production

processes, maintenance of investment goods, and product

recycling to design and management of manufacturing

companies.

PHOENIX+

The Photonics and Optoelectronics Network Plus PHOENIX+

is a networking partnership of the Berlin-Brandenburg Cluster

of Optics and Photonics, promoting the internationalization

of the region in these fields.

A workshop supported by

The International Industry Workshop on Laser Technologies

is an initiative of SENAI Santa Catarina, Brazil and the

Fraunhofer Institute for Production Systems and Design

Technology IPK as well as the Photonics and Optoelectronics

Network Plus PHOENIX+, Germany, aiming to foster R&D

partnerships between academia and industry in global

markets. The workshop intends to promote innovation and

strategic cooperation in the field of laser technologies be-

tween companies and research institutions, with the result

of increasing competitiveness for smart, sustainable and

integrative growth. Speakers from both countries will present

best practices in R&D projects and knowledge transfer. They

will also inform about national and international funding and

incentive programs for R&D activities. As a result, the work-

shop will provide opportunities to kick off international

research and development collaborations in the field of

optical technologies.

We are looking forward to welcoming you at the Inter-

national Industry Workshop on Laser Technologies and to

discussing business opportunities with you.
