Every journey begins with the first step, so we’ve made the 45 Open Flybridge supremely easy to board. Simply walk onto the wide boarding platform, unlatch the transom door and you’re in the spacious, versatile cockpit space.

If you ever require a textbook example of Riviera’s renowned practicality and attention to detail, you’ll discover it here. For a start, the cockpit is completely self-draining and fitted with a reinforced plate in the floor making it easy to fit a game fishing chair or cockpit table. All floor hatches are gas strut assisted, lockable and fitted with rubber seals. There is also a deep, removable fish box with pump out facility concealed in the cockpit floor, although we will forgive you for not knowing it’s there.

In fact, with a surfeit of clever, in-built design flexibility, the 45 Open Flybridge can be simply transformed into the complete angler’s craft by outfitting the cockpit space with a live bait transom tank, outriggers, heavy-duty rod holders, even a game tower and more.

However, you may decide to focus on family cruising and instruct us to outfit your cockpit accordingly.That means stepping out onto skilfully mastered teak decking, selecting your preferred outdoor fabric for the deeply comfortable mezzanine lounge and specifying a handcrafted cockpit table and occasional furniture to make the most of alfresco, on water living.

Already you’re picturing memorable entertaining occasions out here, glorious afternoon sundowners, dinners under a canopy of stars. You will never see your friends and loved ones so contented and happy.

And as you lightly braise the delicacies on the optional gourmet barbecue’s hotplate or offer more refreshments from the refrigerated cockpit cool box, you realise you too are experiencing life at its best.

Giving our owners a choice wherever we can - an ability to tailor the layout of the 45 Open Flybridge to best suit their particular needs - is key to it being such a practical and enduring design. Look closely now at the foredeck: an example of this philosophy in action.

Up here Riviera designers give you the choice of fitting an optional davit to store your tender, creating maximum boarding platform and good cockpit space for the pursuit of serious fish or entertaining fun. However, should you decide to store your tender on the boarding platform, you can transform the foredeck into an additional onboard entertainment space - perhaps an ideal retreat for onboard teenagers or the ultimate sunset viewing point.

Choosing to store your tender on the boarding platform affords another option: the ability to specify and luxuriate in the plush comfort of Riviera’s double sun lounge with stainless steel rails, purpose designed to fit this space. Pure bliss.

Whichever tender storage option you favour, on a craft designed for the adventurous spirit, expect many visitors to the foredeck area. They may wish to assist you in anchoring or berthing or simply to bask in the sun and solitude, but rest assured, all will feel completely safe and confident.

By utilising a combination of wide, non-skid side decks featuring thoughtfully placed handrails, a high bowrail that runs well aft and raised, toe-kick bulwarks, Riviera designers have assembled a superior safety package that imparts real confidence as passengers move about.

Note too the Riviera attention to detail by insisting that the bow rail is fashioned from highly polished, marine grade 316 stainless steel, as are all exterior fastenings like cleats and fender holders. All the anchoring equipment you need is thoughtfully hidden from the elements and view in the foredeck’s deep anchor lockers.

The saloon: think luxury living room

Everywhere you look your Riviera 45 is a triumph of sophisticated, attentive design. So please, venture below now to the accommodation deck and get ready to be pampered, rested and impressed.

Located forward the master stateroom and ensuite promise the last word in luxury; these are wonderfully welcoming, restorative spaces. From the plush pile carpet underfoot to recessed LED lighting overhead and the superb handcrafted feature timberwork and storage, everywhere you look you will see proof of Rivera’s celebrated and highly awarded attention to detail.

Take the master’s island bed with its quality innerspring mattress. Because onboard storage is so important, the entire bed tilts on gas struts to offer extra storage below. That, of course, is in addition to fragrant, cedar-lined hanging lockers with auto lighting to starboard, handcrafted cabinets lining both sides, bedside tables, shelves to port and additional outboard storage cabinetry.

Immediately adjacent is the VIP ensuite, which also doubles as the day head. Here, guests are treated to a level of appointments including vanity, porcelain basin, well lit mirrors and large frameless glass shower stall, normally associated with the world’s finer hotels.

Your guest stateroom to starboard also accommodates two, this time in adult-sized upper and lower beds. Everything your guests enjoy most about the VIP stateroom, the reverse cycle air conditioning, cedar-lined hanging locker and plush pile carpet, once again soothes and welcomes.

Now, what about the comforts? Well, take your seat in the L-shaped lounge to port or the starboard lounge, both feature softly cushioned, all-weather vinyl upholstery and self-draining lockers underneath. They’re easy living, easy care. With enough room to seat up to six adults.

And should you so desire, you can lower the flybridge table on its hi-lo pedestal to easily convert the entire L-shaped lounge into a generous, full size day bed.

Unmatched visibility, modern, easy operation

The clean and uncluttered engine room — with acoustic and thermal insulation and LED lighting — highlights the skilled consideration for which Riviera is renowned globally in terms of engineering.

Accessed via a hatch and stainless steel ladder from the cockpit, this is a very open and functional space – the result of creating a separate machinery room amidships that houses air-conditioning compressors, freshwater pumps, battery chargers, the inverter and other associated equipment.

Accessed via the galley floor or a noise insulated door in the portside guest stateroom, this machinery room ensures ease of maintenance.

Engineering excellence

All batteries onboard the 45 Open Flybridge are maintenance-free to ensure carefree boating and are housed in special battery boxes in accordance with the American Boating & Yacht Council (ABYC) and the European Union’s CE industry standards.

LED lighting is utilised throughout the yacht and provides trouble-free boating while reducing electrical current draw. The lamps use less than 10 per cent of the power required to run a halogen lamp — no bulbs means no maintenance and long service life. Additionally, a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter provides protection over the entire yacht and also complies with ABYC and CE standards for safer boating.

The confident poise of the 45 Open Flybridge is just as evident offshore as it is at anchor – her solid and built-to-last hull with keel is the evolution of our rich 37-year history of building over 5200 world-class luxury motor yachts that are proven in the often-challenging Australian offshore conditions.

Every Riviera built at our world-class facility on Australia’s Gold Coast combines superior- strength hand lay-ups with a watertight collision bulkhead forward, and independent compartments throughout the hull.

Our legendary build quality also features vinylster resin in the outer layer of lamination to increase the ability to withstand water absorption. An isophthalic gel coat exterior provides an impeccable and hardwearing surface finish.

From the waterline down, the hull is solid GRP with reinforced bottom, keel and chines. Structural core material is used in the hull flanks, main deck and hardtop, while precisely fitted, lightweight resin transfer-moulded small parts have a double-sided gel coat finish and are pre-fitted for a perfect seal when all the major components are bonded together.

Riviera uses only 316 marine-grade stainless steel in all our exterior fastenings. All stainless steel rails feature ground and polished welds to ensure a consistently smooth and mirror finish.

Our designers have also placed a firm focus on convenient access to key maintenance points throughout the yacht so any issues can be quickly identified and addressed, and service costs are kept to a minimum.
