DIAGNOSIS:

• Faecal examination: Stoll’s dilution, formalin-

ether concentration, direct smear, Kato

• Distinguishing from Fasciola eggs is difficult

MANAGEMENT:MANAGEMENT:

• Drug of choice: Praziquantel (15mg/kg)

• Risk of exacerbating obstruction or acute

toxaemia with treatment !!
