Academic English• Our most powerful program, Academic English has six hours per
day of quality language instruction, including two electives and
a daily Academic Workshop. It’s the perfect option for students
desiring to transfer to an American college or university or
quickly attain English fl uency.

TOEFL / SAT / GRE / GMAT / TOEIC / IELTS Preparation• Available to students in advanced levels, our comprehensive
test preparation classes cover the skills necessary to succeed on
the student’s selected exam. Students also benefi t from a daily
Academic Workshop.

Intensive English• This popular program off ers three diff erent classes each day. In
addition to a Core Class, students take a focused elective on a
specifi c skill or topic and an Academic Workshop to round out
the school day.

General English• This stimulating combination of the Core Class and a daily
Academic Workshop, such as our pronunciation clinic,
conversation club, American music workshop and more, will
take students’ English skills to new levels.

Vacation English• This program off ers complete instruction in the basics of English
while still allowing plenty of time for fun and exploration.

The FLS Core Classes are the Key to Your
Learning SuccessFLS Core Classes are the foundation of our English Lan-
guage Programs. Made up of 9 levels, the core sequence is an
integrated skills curriculum that teaches speaking, listening,
reading and writing with current techniques, contemporary
materials, teacher coaching and communicative activities.
Our approach simulates the way you learned your native
language, through the natural use of all skills together. Our core
sequence takes students from a basic understanding of simple
English communication all the way to the profi ciency required

Located near the heart of this world-famous destination, FLS
Las Vegas Institute moved to a brand new facility in 2013. Our
new home is in the District, an exciting mixed-use community
in Green Valley. The complex includes popular restaurants
and shops and the area is well-served by the Las Vegas public
transit system.
Many students completing the FLS advanced classes transfer
to the nearby College of Southern Nevada. Additional transfer

English EverywhereA unique part of the FLS core program, English Everywhere
centers around the Hot Sheet, a quick reference for all the key
vocabulary, idioms, and structure covered in the classroom
that week. Each Hot Sheet focuses on a diff erent theme, with
conversation starters, songs and movies that explore the theme
in greater detail. The Hot Sheets are more than just a reference
for students. They’re utilized by the entire FLS staff to engage
students in conversations that include the key language points
of the week. From our instructors to our homestay families
to our tour chaperones, everyone involved is helping the
students learn.

The Immersion MethodAt FLS, you will meet students from all over the world and develop your new language skills
together. Students begin improving their English from their fi rst day of the program. Instruc-
tion is supplemented by role-playing, pair-work, group discussion and pronunciation exercises.
Because our curriculum emphasizes oral English, you will quickly fi nd your confi dence and
comprehension increasing!
Small Class SizesOur class sizes are small to increase individual attention and student-teacher interaction. The
maximum class size is 15, with most classes averaging 12 students or fewer. This enables your
teacher to monitor your English progress closely throughout the term.
Helpful Academic WorkshopsOur daily workshops provide concentrated, self-contained lessons on specifi c aspects of English,
such as pronunciation, vocabulary development, and conversation, and allow students to
develop their ability through songs or discussions of current aff airs. Unlike the ‘language labs’
off ered at some schools, our workshops are all teacher-led by qualifi ed instructors.
Varied Elective ClassesFLS off ers a wide range of elective classes which focus on specifi c English skills or topics. Each
elective class includes 6 lessons per week and use of the textbook. Every eight weeks, you’ll be
able to take a new elective and explore new areas of knowledge. FLS continues to introduce in-
novative new electives, such as English Through Film and Introduction to Literature to challenge
and engage students.

your progress through our levels, select the most appropriate electives, take advantage of the
academic environment and prepare your application materials in time.

FLS International Study Tours provide fully customized
tours for groups at exciting locations across the U.S.A. Our Study
Tours off er an excellent opportunity to experience American
culture while learning English. Typical programs include 18
lessons of ESL per week, exciting excursions, most meals, and

America’s top universities.
Students from all over the world dream of attending the
top schools in the United States. Most of these programs are
extremely competitive and have very selective admission
policies making it diffi cult for students to gain acceptance. If
your grades or English ability are not currently at the level
where you have a viable chance to attend your dream school,
our pathway programs off er the perfect solution.
The pathway programs off ered through UPP at our select
partner schools allow you to enter an academic program
without TOEFL or other English requirements, complete 2
years of academic work and then transfer to some of the best
schools in the United States.
Three easy steps:
1. Participating students take a short pathway preparation program.
2. Students transfer to one of our select partner schools and complete two years
of academic work.
3. Students complete their last two years at any of the major universities listed in
the link provided below.
Please note: There is no TOEFL test or any other requirement
for acceptance to the FLS Pathways programs. Grades in the
pathway program will allow students to attend the very best
schools, but all students who complete the course are placed
into top level universities.
