Th e FLS Core Classes are the Key to Your Learning SuccessFLS core classes are a major part of our English Programs. Made up of 9 levels, the core sequence is an integrated skills program that teaches speaking, listening, reading and writing through a modern curriculum, teacher coaching and communicative activities. Our system simulates the way you learned your native language, through the natural use of all skills together. Th e daily core class uses modern, colorful textbooks with fascinating topics, an American reader and regular testing of your progress. Each class also includes English Everywhere Hot Sheets, with key vocabulary, conversation starters and important lesson highlights. Th e core class levels will take students from a founda-tional understanding of English grammar all the way to the profi ciency required for success at an American college.
Academic EnglishOur high-powered Academic English Program has six hours per day of quality language instruc-tion, including our Core Class, your choice of two electives or one premium test prep class and a daily Academic Workshop. This option is designed for students intending to transfer to an Ameri-can college or university or to quickly attain English fluency.

Intensive EnglishThe Intensive English Program is a comprehensive approach to studying English. Th e Immersion MethodAt FLS, you will meet students from all over the world, and you will develop your new language skills together. Students begin improving their English on the fi rst day of the program. Instruc-tion is supplemented by role-playing, pair-work, group discussion and pronunciation exercises. Because our curriculum emphasizes oral Eng-lish, you will quickly fi nd your confi dence and comprehension increasing!
Small Class SizesOur class sizes are small to increase individual attention and student-teacher interaction. Your FLS instructors will be accessible throughout the program. Average number of students in a class is 12 (Maximum: 15).

After 8 weeks in the FLS program, you’ll receive free placement services to UPP’s wide range of institutions, many with TOEFL waivers.

FLS off ers a host of programs and services to help students planning to attend, or currently attending high school or university study in the USA.
Varied Elective ClassesFLS offers a wide range of elective classes which focus on specific English skills or topics. Each elective class includes 6 lessons per week and use of the textbook. Every eight weeks, you’ll be able to take a new elective and explore new areas of knowledge.
FLS continues to introduce innovative new electives, such as English Through Film and College Preparation: Intro to Sociology, to challenge and engage students.
High School English Preparation (Pre-AYP) CampThe FLS High School English Preparation Camp is perfect for students enrolling in an American high school. By at-tending a summer preparation camp at FLS you will hone your English language skills, and adjust to American life with the comfort and support of friendly, experienced FLS staff members. Our program includes 30 lessons per week of professional ESL Instruction, and accommodation at an American college dormitory.
FLS Holiday Boarding ProgramIf you’re already attending boarding school or university in America, our school break programs will help you meet new friends, maintain your academic skills with daily ESL or SAT preparation classes, and enjoy exciting excursions in some of America’s top tourist cities. Program start dates are flexible to accommodate the wide range of school vacation dates.

A unique part of the FLS core program, English Everywhere centers around the Hot Sheet, a quick reference for all the key vocabulary, idioms, and structure covered in the classroom that week. Each Hot Sheet focuses on a diff erent theme, with conversation starters, songs and movies that explore the theme in greater detail. Th e Hot Sheets are more than just a reference for students. Th ey’re utilized by the entire FLS staff to engage students in conversations that include the key language points of the week. From our instructors to our homestay families to our tour chaperones, everyone involved is helping the students learn.
