Some of these conditions no longer apply. Moreover, conventional nuclear power plants are being rejected in many places over the globe, and nuclear fusion is yet to come. The last decade of this century will be a transition age, during which renewable sources may be able to match marginal needs, but improving performance of existing power plants by means of retrofitting, upgrading or refurbishing will be an imperative. ENERGY FOR THE TRANSITION AGE

INFORMATION AND CALL FOR PAPERS For many decades the power generation industry has seen consistent technological progress, rapid

demand growth, and falling real costs. Some of these conditions no longer apply. Moreover, conventional nuclear power plants are being rejected in many places over the globe, and

nuclear fusion is yet to come. The last decade of this century will be a transition age, during which renewable sources may be able to

match marginal needs, but improving performance of existing power plants by means of retrofitting, upgrading or refurbishing will be an imperative.

FLOWERS '92, a sequel to the highly successful international conference FLOWERS '90' will be devoted to these and related aspects of power generation in the '90s.

Authors are invited to submit papers in the following areas:

RETROFFITING AND UPGRADING OF CONVENTIONAL POWER PLANTS - - N E W OR IMPROVED CYCLE CHARACTERISTICS --ENVIR. OR PERF. PROGRESS IN STEAM GENERATORS, RECOVERY BOILERS ETC. - - IMPROVED TURBINE EFFICIENCY --IMPROVED COMB USTION EFFICIENCY

RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES RELATED TO INDUSTRIAL AND~OR LARGE-SCALE POWER GENERATION

NON-CONVENTIONAL ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEMS APPROACHING MATURITY
