In the months ahead, we are eager to meet all of you who are here for the first time, and for those who are returning, we look forward to growing our relationships with you. This year’s international MOPS theme is “A Fierce Flourishing”. The spiritual foundation of the theme is from Isaiah 55:12, “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Sometimes we need new eyes. A perspective shift that recalibrates our hearts to the rhythm of God’s goodness surrounding us. To tune our hearts to better hear the music of the divine echoing throughout this world. That we might let that goodness seep into our bones and into our hearts so we can remember what it feels like to flourish. As you have heard, MOPS is a co-op and depends on the support of all members to donate their time and talents to make us a successful ministry. Through rotations in MOPPETS, serving on committees and contributing to our brunch and cleanup, each of us can help make MOPS more enjoyable, affordable and rewarding for the whole. Being a mother is one of the greatest blessings and rewards in life. However, we also know first-hand that it is one of the most challenging jobs you will ever have! We hope our MOPS meetings will provide the opportunity for you to celebrate the wonderful mom you are and to spend time nurturing and focusing on the important relationships in your life. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any needs, questions or suggestions at any time throughout our year together. Each of you is important to us and we pledge to keep you and your children in our prayers. SUMMER BABES!WELCOME, Moms!We are thrilled you’ve decided to join our 2015-16 Beaverton MOPS group!

Our ESPRESSO BAR (Chaos Café) is open! Lattes and Mochas are just $3.00 with $1.50 of each cup going back to our MOPS program. Our themed drink this month is the Coconut Latte. If you know you will be purchasing a beverage, you can pre-order your drink with an email to our barista, Kim Benedetti [email protected].

If you pre-order by Thursday evening, your name will be entered into a drawing for future free coffees! The Chaos Café carries 2%/NF/Soy Milk/Coconut Milk —if these don’t work with your dietary restrictions bring your own and we can still make your drink of choice.

Get your popcorn and take your child to the movies We are once again offering our fall fundraiser of the Valley Cinema movie package - 10 movies for only $10.00 - tickets are only needed for children, parents are free!

Kelsey Simila will have tickets available! This is a great fundraiser for our group because we receive $3 from each ticket sale, so let’s buy all these up and meet at the movies!

If you have older children that will be off of school on our second or third meeting (Oct. 9th & 23rd) they are welcome to join the fun in our school out room. You must sign them up to reserve a spot; cost is $2 per child, look for the sign up sheet at the front of the brunch line.

Tell us something funny about your kids?I came home from work one day and my husband says “You are not going to believe what YOUR daughter did today?” Apparently he was making Mac and Cheese for lunch and left an unwrapped stick of butter on the counter. He noticed the house was unusually quiet and went in search of our oldest daughter who was 2.5 at the time. When he finally found her, she was naked on the front couch and munching on the stick of butter. When he asked her “Kiersten, WHAT are you doing?!?” She replied “I’m making myself into cookie”Suzy Schneider (Black)
