won her career debut by more than 11lengths against maiden claimers atGulfstream in September, she caughtthe attention of the prominent partner-ship of Michael Dubb of Long Island,N.Y.; Sol Kumin and Jason Mon-teleone’s Madaket Stables LLC of NewYork City; Michael Caruso, of Bethle-hem, Pa., in the name of his BethlehemStables LLC and David Simon. Somuch so that they purchased a part ofher from owner and co-breeder DarylS. and Sandy Clark’s Darsan, Inc., ofPlantation, Fla.She was transferred to the barn of

trainer Jason Servis, but was a bit of adisappointment in her first race for thenew connections when she finishedsecond as the 1-10 favorite, four-and-a-halflengths behind winner I’llmakeyousmilein in afirst level, starter optional claiming race over five-and-one-half furlongs at Gulfstream on Jan. 10.But that would be her last sign of discourage-

ment as she won her next two starts against sim-ilar company including a 10-length destruction ofstarter optional claimers going six furlongs at Gulf-stream on Mar. 14.She made her stakes debut Saturday at Gulf-

stream and was able to win her third straightagainst four other 3-year-old fillies in the $75,000Game Face Stakes going seven furlongs.Breaking from post two in the short field, A

with 7-5 second-choice Karama before jockeyPaco Lopez corrected her in the initial strides.Meanwhile, longshot Talkback had a clean startfrom the outside post seven and put a lengthlead on A Bit of Both as they made their way outof the chute and onto the main track. However, A Bit of Both was on even terms

with Talkback from the inside and quickly racedto a length advantage before as they passed thefive-eighths pole.A Bit of Both clocked the first quarter-mile in

:22.36 and had a clear lead moving into the farturn where Karama launched a challenge from theoutside. After the half-mile in :45.19, Lopez gavethe cue to A Bit of Both who drew clear from

Karama for the run down the stretch.A Bit of Both had five easy lengths

on Karama at the furlong marker andgalloped under the wire with a three-length advantage in a final time of1:22.77 on the fast track. Karama heldsecond, two-and-a-half lengths clear ofGetting Warmer in third followed byTalkback and Amy Flash Fowler.A Bit of Both paid $3.40 to win the Game

Face, $2.10 to place and $2.10 to show. She is also a graduate of the Ocala
