• National Operating Foundation based in Seattle devoted to the improvement of the child welfare system

Our Priorities and Partnerships

• 2020 Initiative- committed to working with state partners to safely reduce the numbers of children in out of home care- the right service for the right families in the right place and the right amount

• Collaborating with 35 states as part of this effort

• Addressing the issue of Disproportionality as part of that safe reduction strategy

History of Florida Partnership

• Been involved for two years• Agreement with former Secretary Bob

Butterworth- Alachua and Duval counties (Jacksonville and Gainesville)-N.E. FLA

• CFP Resources include around $450,000 per year supporting staffing and the development of a neighborhood family center

• Extensive technical assistance and consultation• Priorities include the reduction of entries into

foster care in those counties

• Subsequent involvement with the state on their involvement with the N.G.A. Policy Academy-working with state leadership on selected projects

• Partnerships in other sites in the state and with Legal Services

• Currently we are working closely with the state leadership- Secretary George Sheldon
