Need for the Test
Hydrostatic Test Remove the natural gas from the line• Controlled release vents harmlessly into
atmosphere
• LDC-service is continued on parallel loop system
Test the integrity of the pipeline by filling the line with water• Put the water under pressure for a fixed
period of time

Total Project Length = 2.2 miles Begin: W 39th Street (NW 91st Terrace) End: NW 64th Street
Generally follows 3 roadway alignments: Palmetto Expressway (SR 826) & W 20th Ave Hialeah Expressway (SR 934) & NW 74th St Milam Dairy Road (NW 72nd Ave / SR 969)

Remove natural gas from the 18” Mainline Completed the week before the hydrotest
Fill the line with waterPressurize the system
Normal operating pressure is 722 PSI Test pressure is up to 1,444 PSI• Relatively short duration (approx. 30 minutes)
Reduce pressure to 1,108 PSI•Maintain for 8 hours
How the Test is Performed
De-pressurize the lineDrain the water from the systemIf any integrity issues are found:
They are corrected as soon as possible The hydrotest is performed again• Any re-testing will be performed as soon as
possible, during the same hours
Resume normal natural gas service

Pipe anomalies will be repaired in advance of conducting the hydrotest
For the duration of the high pressure test, as a safety consideration, we plan to isolate the pipeline route from people and traffic
