What I learned in my 2nd year in DEM
1. The only constant is change.
2. USMC has it right: Improvise, adapt and overcome
3. My service alma mater also had it right: semper paratus; always ready…. You gotta be
4. FDEM has is right: in a challenging, unscripted year, the team got it right
![Page 6: Florida Division of Emergency Management Bureau of Preparedness CIEM Update October 14, 2010](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062217/56814dcd550346895dbb26ba/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
So….
What does that mean for Preparedness?
![Page 7: Florida Division of Emergency Management Bureau of Preparedness CIEM Update October 14, 2010](https://reader035.vdocuments.us/reader035/viewer/2022062217/56814dcd550346895dbb26ba/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
Make it “righter”
Keep what works, try new things and keep learning
