FCSPORTS MEMBERSHIP
One of the best parts of your FCSports membership is being able to team up with other members and get involved in the action. There are many opportunities that can fit into your busy schedule, so call the Member Services Department (407.423.2476). They’ll guide you through the process and help you make the best choice based upon your interests and availability. Here’s an overview of committees and volunteer opportunities to consider:
AUCTION
This committee serves to facilitate the auctions and raffles held by the Foundation throughout the year. This includes procurement of auction items and responsibility for the planning, coordination and execution of the auction events. There will be two auctions/raffles held in 2013.
ORLANDO MINI OPEN PRESENTED BY ROETZEL & ANDRESS AND UNITEDHEALTHCARE
The Florida Citrus Sports Orlando MINI Open presented by Roetzel & Andress is the organization’s primary fundraising events benefitting the Florida Citrus Sports Foundation MVPs. FEAST ON THE 50 PRESENTED BY UNITEDHEALTHCARE AND BMO HARRIS BANK
The Feast on the 50 committee is responsible for developing new formats for the event, securing talent and entertainment, serving as a liaison with local alumni groups regarding alumni event competition and securing quality door prizes.
HOSPITALITY
Members of this committee assist Florida Citrus Sports staff in hosting and supplying hotel hospitality suites with product, bartending for bowl participants and serving as official goodwill ambassadors for Florida Citrus Sports and our community. The overall goals of the committee are to provide an exclusive area for coaches, their guests and those in the official VIP parties to socialize and relax away from the media and fans.
MEMBERSHIP CRM
This committee has a focus on customer service, responsiveness to member needs and membership benefits.
MEMBERSHIP SALES
Be an advocate for Florida Citrus Sports by recruiting new members, play a role in establishing the annual membership drive and develop creative ways to recruit new members.
MILITARY AFFAIRS
The Military Affairs Committee supports our local military and veteran organizations by welcoming and honoring service members at FCSports events.
ORLANDO CITRUS PARADE
The parade committee is instrumental in planning and executing parade-day operations and pre-parade marketing – the two major subgroups of the committee. Event operations handle all parade-day responsibilities comprised of the following sub-committees: line-up, staging, marshalling, grandstands and ticketing. The marketing group develops and approves the business plan to increase revenue; sets and accomplishes annual parade goals and objectives; researches and recruits new entries; and creates standards to maintain consistency in parade presentation and theme.
SCOUTING

VOLUNTEER
FCSPORTS MEMBERSHIP
I renewed my membership earlier in the year and now I would like to purchase additional tickets. Can I do this?
Yes, but probably not adjoining your member seats. Our members are seated together in the best seats, and these are usually sold out before the teams are announced. However, we will work with you to find the closest available seats.
How can I improve my seat location?
The best way to improve your seat location is to upgrade your membership. The higher your level of membership, the better your seats. However, if you do not upgrade, there may still be a possibility to improve your seating location. First, renew your contract prior to the renewal date. Second, on the form renewal page, there is a section for notes to the ticket office; fill that out, giving them your seat preferences. Seat location improvement is based on a number of factors: length of membership, membership level and how many members in your category don’t renew.
Is Florida Citrus Sports a government agency?
No. Florida Citrus Sports Events, Inc., and our other corporations are 501(c)3 charitable corporations.
Does Florida Citrus Sports operate the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium?
No. The Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium is owned and operated by the City of Orlando from whom we rent our offices and the stadium for our games and other events.
Can I buy tickets for events other than FCSports events from your ticket office?
We are not a general Ticketmaster outlet. We only sell tickets for the events we own and manage.
I would like to scout a football game, but I don’t know much about the technical aspects of the game. May I still scout?
Yes. Our scouts go to games to serve as goodwill ambassadors for Florida Citrus Sports. Your function is to meet and interact with the schools’ VIPs. Scouts typically sit in the press box during the game. While there, you will meet the schools’ sports information directors, athletic directors, possibly the presidents and members of the media. Your main function is to educate them about our games and what a great venue Central Florida is for a bowl trip.
Does Florida Citrus Sports pay my expenses when I scout?
No. Our scouts pay and coordinate their own transportation, food and lodging expenses. We will provide the ticket/credentials to the game, and the school usually gives our scouts a parking pass close to the stadium. At times, scouts will be invited to dinner functions by the school. Food is usually served in the press box during the game.
Is it a good idea to scout my favorite team’s games?
No. Since the press box is a working area for the media, cheering for either team is prohibited. If you violate this rule you will be asked to leave. If you feel that you can’t comply with this, then you may want to consider choosing a different school to scout.
How do I volunteer to work on an FCSports committee?
In this membership manual, we have a list of our committees. Most are open to any member who wishes to volunteer. If you have an interest in serving or need some direction as to the best committee for you, please call our Member Services Department and they will then put you in touch with the committee chair and staff member who works with that committee. Visit our Volunteer page at FCSports.com.
If I am unable to use all of my tickets, is there somewhere or someone I can donate them to?
Yes. Through Florida Citrus Sports Foundation’s Dream Ticket Clearinghouse, members may donate their unused tickets to economically disadvantaged children in the Central Florida community, and in the process, you may receive a tax deductible charitable donation. To take advantage of this program, contact the Florida Citrus Sports Foundation.
