Welcome to the BMA Please excuse our appearance while we build a new lobby and front entrance to welcome and serve visitors. The Brooklyn Museum of Art is the second-largest art museum in the United States and one of the great cultural t re as ures of New York City. Its collection of more than 1.5 million objects representing almost every culture is present- ed in galleries on five floors of the 562,000-square-foot build- ing. This visitor guide and floorplan will help you find your way through the BMA. If you have only limited time for your visit, don’t miss those works that are illustrated in the floorplan, some of the most important treasures in the collection. If you have any questions or comments, please speak with the staff at the Admis- sions Desk, who will be happy to help make your visit as pleasant as possible. Legend 1 1 Figure, 19th century.
