FloorPlanDraftOptionsSurveySummaryOnMarch1,theCityofAustinParksandRecreationDepartmentandtheAustin/TravisCountyHealthandHumanServicesDepartment,inpartnershipwithdesignconsultantMcKinneyYorkArchitects,releasedthree(3)floorplandraftoptionsforcommunityfeedbacktoinformthedesignplanningforthenewMontopolisRecreationandCommunityCenter.ThefloorplandraftswerebasedonearliercommunityfeedbackreceivedduringDecember2015’s“CommunityandProjectTeamMeetandGreet”andthe“CommunityVisioningWorkshops”heldthisJanuary.Toincreasecommunityawareness,thefloorplandrafts(Attachment1)weredisplayedonlargeboardsatfourlocationsintheMontopolisneighborhoodfromMarch1throughthe14.Duringthattime,communityfeedbackwasgatheredthroughpapersurveys(Attachment2)availableateachsite.Thesurvey’sgoalwastounderstandwhichfloorplanthecommunitypreferred.SurveyquestionsweredevelopedaccordingtothecommunityfeedbackreceivedfromtheAdjectivesExerciseduringthe“CommunityandProjectTeamMeetandGreet”event,whenweasked,"howwouldyoulikeyourcommunitytodescribethenewRecreationandCommunityCenter?”Forthosewhocouldnotvisitoneofthefourlocations,thefloorplandraftsandsurveyweremadeavailableonlineinEnglishandSpanishfromMarch1-14.ThecommunitywasalsoinvitedtorequestsmallgroupsessionsortomakecommentsoverthephonebycallingAustin3-1-1,theCityofAustinservicesline.Atotalof193surveys(Attachment3)weresubmittedthroughacombinationofpapersurveys,onlinesubmittals,andin-personsurveyintercepts.Uponrequest,theprojectteamalsopresentedtheboardstotheMontopolisNeighborhoodAssociation.Feedbackreceivedduringthesurveyperiodisintendedtoinformandhelpguidethefinalschematicdesign.Noneofthethreefloorplandraftsistobeconsideredasfinal.OntheeveningofMay4,thefinalschematicdesignwillbepresentedattheMontopolisRecreationCenter’sCincodeMayocelebration.Montopolisneighborhoodfloorplandraftsdisplaylocations
