To whom it may concern,

On the day of the floods in Murphys Creek I was outside in the

rain backwashing the swimming pool at my parents house. I

noticed a pressure tank floating past in the creek, this made me

walk around the house to see what was happening and it was

then that I noticed that our entire horse paddock was (

completely under water and our main driveway was totally cut

off by the water which was running through our entire propertl

about 3ft hish with waves in it. I had enough time to turn my

parents car around run it up on the lawn and load my 74yr old

mother,Slyr old father and my 6yr old daughter and drive out

the back access near the shed. As we were passing the shed we

were driving through the flood water as Goodsirs Rd was

already damaged with massive washouts from previous heavy

rain we were lucky to get out at all and if we didn't have a 4wd

vehicle we would not have got out to the safety of my house al

the top of the property. On this day there were no warnings at

all about what was coming it was only that I visually saw it and

reacted in time. The property that we live on boarders on the

creek and there are still copious arnounts of debree in our

creek including a car that people were killed in, roofing iron,

massive trees, dnd all over our property are parts of peoples

houses and personal belongings. I drive between Murphys

Creek and Ballard everyday and everywhere you look our creek

system is still full of all types of debree which when we get

targe rain is going to put all our lives in danger again. The

debree up stream from our property poses a great danger to us

and other residents as it will either become floating missiles or

it will block our natural water ways and send the water over

land again. The only help we have received have been from the

army and volunteers. The army helped rebuild our road fence

and cleaned out the pool, the volunteers helped clean out all

the damaged belongings in the shed and pile it in the horse

paddock where it is still sitting waiting to be carted away.

Everytime people look at the piles of debree everywhere it is a

reminder of that day and how devastating it was. lt is

frightening enough everytime we get rain down here, without

visually being able to see everyday the dangers up stream just

waiting to be dislodged and be pushed down stream at us.
