Flontec®, the new pre-painted steel with anti-graffiti propertiesSometimes, graffiti could be considered as street art, but most of the time, it is a real

vandalism particularly when affecting public or private buildings.

Besides the negative social connotation, graffiti interacts with the material to create

generally an irreversible damage.

To fight against the degradations and protect your buildings with efficiency, Arval by

ArcelorMittal has developed Flontec®, the new anti-graffiti pre-painted steel. Thanks

to its surface properties, this coating effectively fights against the degradation of your

facades in discouraging taggers: with Flontec®, you restore easily the facade in few

minutes!

For an easy cleaning of graffiti and tags on steel facades without any solvent

This pre-painted steel, single on the market, is composed of a resin PVDF which is very

chemically resistant. Graffiti can be washed easily and quickly using a washer pressure

and cold water, or a soft brush or non-abrasive sponge.

Its surface is impermeable to chemical attack of spray paints. This property also allows

a very good resistance to fouling.

Flontec®, the lasting proctectionOnce Flontec® cleared of graffiti, the facade recovers its appearance

and original properties without any damage of the paint. The anti-

graffiti functionality remains as the use of aggressive solvents is

avoided. By avoiding the use of detergents, Flontec® helps to

preserve our environment.

Important: Graffiti should be removed as soon as possible (within 72 h) because UV exposure

accelerates the adhesion of graffiti on the pre-painted steel.

How? If the graffiti is applied with spray paint or pen, it is recommended to wash the

facade with cold water using a washer pressure.

The use of a plastic squeegee or a non-abrasive sponge is also possible.

For small damaged areas, domestic alcohol can be used as a cleaner. If the

adhesion is too strong, specific strippers may be recommended by our services.

Warning:Many graffiti cleaners are available on the market. The effect of these chemicals

on the coating performance cannot be guaranteed and the use of these chemicals

is not permitted.

Notes:It will be difficult to use the touch-up paint on a damaged area due to the

hydrophobic properties of the coating. The anti-graffiti Flontec® provides

protection against most attacks of graffiti except for acid-based graffiti.
