Significant Areas of Success

• Learning-Centered University

FLITE users can now access 12,358 full-text electronic and print periodical titles. Authentication for off-campus users was also simplified and streamlined in 2004. A new feature of “Find a Periodical” provides the automatic display of online passwords, speeding access for Ferris users.

• Create an Engaged Campus

A total of 18,196 study room uses and 4,288 room bookings were recorded in FLITE during FY 2004. FLITE aims for maximum building utilization and hosts a growing number of meetings of student, campus and off-campus organizations.

Page 43: FLITE

Ongoing or Proposed Significant Activities

• Provide highly-focused technology instruction to all FLITE employees (FLITEC training initiative). Utilize FLITE colleagues willing to share their expertise as instructors.

• Augment Library Instruction and Reference Services (RIS Department); continue offering information literacy sessions in specified general education courses and program-specific courses and broaden information literacy outreach.
