INTRODUCTIONThis programme has been developed and is administered by Flightline Support Ltd to meet your individual needs. The BTEC Advanced Diploma in Aviation Fuel, Storage and Handling Operations Level 3 offers an unparalleled career progressive structure with continuing professional development (CPD) at its core. The aim of this programme is to offer the individuals a structured, formal training programme that results in the only internationally recognised formal qualification. Following training, participants in this programme will be required to complete work based assignments, which will be assessed by competent named assessors. The programme is designed to meet industry standards and procedures that

are recognised both nationally and internationally. The training support manual sets down the minimum operating procedures and standards to be applied to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of “on specification” fuels and should be read in conjunction with relevant supporting documents.

HOW IT WORKSThe two part programme in each phase has been specifically designed to allow the individuals the opportunity to study at their own pace. After the classroom and practical sessions at Flightline, the student will complete the remainder of the course at work or at home, submitting assignments for assessment as each unit of the programme has been completed. Learners will be asked to complete assignments that cover the learning outcome and assessment criteria when they have worked through the unit. On arrival at the Flightline Support Ltd Training Facility, participants will be issued with the training pack and the BTEC Advanced Diploma in Aviation Fuel, Storage and Handling Operations Level 3 programme along with a PPE welcome pack. (Please note: excludes safety foot wear).

The BTEC Advanced Diploma in Aviation Fuel, Storage and Handling Operations Level 3 content has been set out in such a way as to reflect the three key stages in your learning process. A three phased programme of learning and assignments are aimed at the following audience:

1. BTEC ADVANCED AWARD IN AVIATION FUEL, STORAGE AND HANDLING OPERATIONS UNITS 1, 2 AND 3

• Core skills and competency are the

key focus of this award. Aimed at all operators and handlers of fuels for use in aviation.

• 5 day tutorial and practical sessions at Flightline Support Ltd

• Self-study assignments• Anticipated study hours (includes main

course and assignments) – 100 hours

2. BTEC ADVANCED CERTIFICATE IN AVIATION FUEL, STORAGE AND HANDLING OPERATIONS UNITS 4, 5, AND 6

• Supervisory skills and competency are the key focus of this certificate. Aimed

at more experienced operators and supervisors of fuels for use in aviation.

• Requires completion of BTEC Advanced Award units 1, 2 and 3.

• 5 day tutorial and practical sessions at Flightline Support Ltd

• Self-study assignments• Anticipated study hours (includes main

course and assignments) – 110 hours

3. BTEC ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN AVIATION FUEL, STORAGE AND HANDLING OPERATIONS UNITS 7, 8, 9 AND 10

• Management skills and competency are the key focus of this diploma. Aimed at supervisors and managers of fuels for use in aviation.

• Requires completion of BTEC Advanced Award units 1, 2 and 3, and BTEC Advanced Certificate units 4, 5 and 6.

• 5 day tutorial and practical sessions at Flightline Support Ltd

• Self-study assignments• Anticipated study hours (includes main

course and assignments) – 160 hours
