Applebee’s Flapjack

Fundraiser

“I took the Q17 bus and then transferred on to the n6 bus

with another Key Clubber. It turns out we were on the

same buses as QHSS Key Club, but we didn’t notice till we

got on the n6 bus! We commuted to Applebee’s

together. It was a chilly morning and most importantly – I

was hungry. We went inside Applebee’s where QHSS Key

Club’s sponsoring Kiwanis greeted us and gave us our

assignments. Our jobs were to take orders for drinks and to

serve the food the chefs cooked. It was slow at first

because not many people came yet, so some of us just

stood around. But, more people started to gradually pour

in and we found ourselves running around the place to

relay orders and give out the food to the customers. It was

all worth it though, because the moment we waited for

finally came – the free food. Honestly, the pancakes could

have been better but I was starving so it didn’t matter. It

was fun being a waitress for a day and getting to bond

with QHSS Key Club.”
