FLEYE Copenhagen’s “Nordic Light”

collection transforms the beautiful

Scandinavian light into new eyewear

shapes and colorways.

With a modern take on the Skagen

paintings, a renowned Danish icon

from the late 19th century, we have

created an eyewear collection that

captures the painters’ fabulous

composition of colors and light.

The Skagen Painters were a group

of Scandinavian artists, who settled

in the village of Skagen to portray

the remarkable light and scenery.

It was especially this unique quality

of light that had drawn them to the

northernmost point of Denmark.

A translucent light that merged the

sea and sky. Anyone who has visited

Skagen will agree that the place truly

is something special, with its natural

sceneries and fascinating light.

Inspired by the iconic Danish Skagen

paintings, we have created our own

inspirational artwork by experimenting

with various materials with different

characteristics; solid, transparent,

glossy and liquid, to see how the

surfaces interacted with each other

and with light.

These stunning abstract artworks,

captured by still life photographer,

Ida Emilie Risager, led to the new

designs for the “Nordic Light”

collection. Design concepts such as

transparency, depth and structure have

been applied to create the collection.

Each frame becomes its own artistic

expression when textures are

combined, colors are chosen,

and reflections are created.

Our Nordic Light collection is

handcrafted from an innovative

combination of carbon and wood.

Our Carbon/Wood frames consist

of 23 layers of carbon fiber and 1

silky finish-layer of natural or colored

wood. Each carbon layer is thinner

than paper, light as a feather and

stronger than steel. Despite the

featherlight weight, carbon frames

are exceptionally strong.

Each carbon layer is only 0,1 mm

ensuring an extremely light frame

that at the same time keeps its shape.

We use a 0,3 mm thin layer of natural

oak wood or colored wood to add an

exclusive and natural warmth to the

raw carbon frames.

Dahlia is a stylish optical frame with elegant wooden details, adding character to the design.

With the fusion of raw carbon fiber and colored Platan wood, Dima is taking modern eyewear design to a whole new level.

Ege is a modern take on the 80’s aesthetics with classic shapes and a double bridge.

Florian is a masculine and classic optical frame with a contemporary touch.

Dorius is a cool com-bination of retro and modern vibes, crafted in raw carbon fiber and colored Platan wood.

Eng is a stylish optical frame, enhanced by elegant wooden details with a contemporary touch.

Keeping it cool and simple with 23 paperthin layers of carbon fibre and one layer of colored Platan wood - Loui makes an understated statement of confident style.

Milas is a modern classic inspired by the timeless panto shape, handcrafted by raw carbon fibre and light wood.

Lava is a rectangular optical frame in a clas-sic yet modern design, handcrafted from carbon and wood.

Melvin is a large rectangular optical frame handcrafted from raw carbon fibre and light wood, adding a self-confident and characterful look.
