The Flex Insulin pump operates using advanced micro pumptechnology. The MEMS Nano Pump is a volumetric membrane pump, with a pair of check valves, integrated in a MEMS chip. The chip is a stack of 3 layers bonded together: a silicon on insulator (SOI) plate with micro machined pump-structures and two Pyrex cover plates with through-holes.

This MEMS chip is assembled with a piezoelectric actuator that moves the membrane in a reciprocating movement to compress and decompress the fluid in the pumping chamber.

The cartridge units provide an easy snap fit Insulin Reservoir system disposable every 3 to 5 days.

The Reservoir is securely locked into position with a unique live hinged undercut on the Flex Pump Main Housing.

The Flex Electronic unit is in molded into the Polyurethane housing.Contained within a snap fit water tight housing the electronic unit is tamper proof . The Main housing soft characteristics act as an impact resistant casing.

Soft Battery is a thin galvanic cell with low environmental impact to provide stable low power for new applications.The Customised Flex Soft cell Battery has a low unit cost due to its low material cost.The unique flexible characteristics of the soft cell battery allow for it to be bent without effect on power performance.The Soft Battery is a sealed unit and has a wide working temperature and humidity range making it suitable for in mold application.The Flex Insulin System is Charged through an Induction Charge Pad.
