    Flash MXQuick Reference CardFlash MX Workspace Tools Panel

    Timeline

    To Display Tool OptionsClick a tool and select a

    tool option from the bottomof the Tools panel.

    To Constrain Shapes:Press the keywhile dragging the shape.

    To End Open Path (PenTool):Press andclick to end the path

    To Convert a CornerPoint to a Curve Point: Click the Subselectiontooland press , clickon the point you want tochange and drag.

    To Create a New CornerPoint:Click theArrowtooland press , clickon the line where you wanto create a point and drag.

    To Insert a Layer:Click the New Layerbutton in the Timeline, or select InsertLayerfrom the menu.

    To Insert a Frame:Click an empty frameon the Timeline and select InsertFramefrom the menu, or press . Flash insertsframes from the last frame or keyframe to theselected point.

    To Delete a Frame:Select the frame(s)and select InsertRemove Framesfrom themenu, or press + .

    To Insert a Keyframe:Click an emptyframe on the Timeline and select InsertKeyframefrom the menu, or press .

    To Insert a Blank Keyframe:Click anempty frame on the Timeline and select Insert

    Blank Keyframefrom the menu, or press.

    To Clear a Keyframe:Select thekeyframe and select InsertClear Keyframefrom the menu, or press + . Thekeyframe becomes a regular frame.

    To Create Frame-by-FrameAnimation:Insert a keyframe in theselected layer, place an object on the stage.Insert a keyframe in the next frame, change the

    object from the first frame, and repeat.

    To Insert Motion TweenedAnimation:Insert a keyframe in theselected layer and place a symbol or groupedobject on the stage. Select the symbol and

    select InsertCreate Motion Tweenfromthe menu. Select the last frame you want toinclude in the motion tween, and move thesymbol to the final point of the tween.

    To Change Timeline View:Click theFrame view butto nand select a view.

    Panels To View a Panel:Select Windowfrom themenu bar and select the panel you want to view. Or,click the title of the panel group, or click theexpander arrow in panel group title bar.

    Panel Group:Drag the panel gripper (dottedarea on the left side of the panel title bar) to a newlocation or docking area.

    Actions

    Insert ActionScript statements, orcommands, into the movie. A description ofthe selected action appears in the panel.

    Scale, rotate, or skew an object. Click theConstrain box to maintain the objectsoriginal proportions during transformation.

    Select objects and align and distribute ormatch size and space relative to oneanother, or relative to the Stage.

    Movie Explorer

    Use the Movie Explorer as a map of themovie; search for movie content, organizemovie contents, view an outline of themovies structure, or select movie elementsfor modification.

    Describes in detail the action selected onthe left side of the panel. Or, copy andpaste sample code into the Actions panel.

    Library

    The Library contains the symbols insertedin a movie. Organize symbols into foldersand view symbol details such as when theitem was last modified and the number ofinstances. Insert, edit or delete symbols inthis window.

    Create a new color, edit a color, use adifferent color model in your document, orcreate new colors to add to a color swatch.

    Color Swatches

    Create a new swatch to create your owncolor scheme, or modify an existingswatch.

    Add user interaction in movies or Webforms, create your own components, ormodify existing ones.

    Create a new swatch to create your owncolor scheme, or modify an existingswatch.

    TheProperty Inspectordisplays detailed information and settings about a selected item in the Flashworkspace: the document, shapes, videos, text, symbols, frames, tools, components, or groups. It replacesthe Fill, Stroke, Character, Paragraph, Tool Options, Effect, Frame, and Instance panels of earlier versions.
